Plastic Intake to turbo broke off
So i guess i pushed too hard when reinstalling my intake and it broked off. Looking at how fragile this is is their an aftermarket/aluminum replacement or i have to buy a used/oem?
Thank you Going to try to glue this back together |

There is one for the n55, but not n20. I took some Measurements and was looking into having an Aluminum piece made that fits in the turbo mouth and then pushes into to the plastic piece that would be cut back to just before flexible bellows section.
Something similar to this. http://www.pureturbos.com/store/bmw-...e-f30-f10.html Still have to get around to having it machined up. If someone has the capabilities to machine it I can share the sketch I put together. |

Dug a bit deeper and took apart the intake, I need part #13-71-7-605-638.
How do fix it, from underneath the car or try to do it by feel? I can't see the screw that attached to it. |

Its funny if you buy part 13-71-7-605-638 which is the intake tube alone is $120 but if you order part
13-71-7-605-045 which is the two piece intake it only cost $60 which is the one i order and fixed my issue |

Thanks for the tip! Now how did you get to the part, from underneath or from above?

Underneath the car is way easier to install this. I just dropped the corner of the under car guard and jacked up the one side of the car. I used a socket on the end of a screw driver since it is not very tight. Install was a breeze after that. I cracked mine as well just at the other side.

The part number on parts geek for this part is 118625-08057676. It is called Air Intake hose. In the notes they have intake boot - intake boot to turbocharger. I just replaced mine with a stock one. The new one I got was much more pliable than the original. It was as if it had just dry rotted. However, since installing the new one, I have yet to have any more issues.

Thanks for the tips, especially Bmwchue who told me to get part 13-71-7-605-045 which is the whole assembly at half the price instead of part # 13-71-7-605-638.
I can't manage the images, but the if you look at my picture, the portion in the white box corresponds to part 13-71-7-605-638. Of course, my BMW dealer had to special order the entire assembly. I guess they like to charge their clients for more for less. As for installation, I found that wiggling the whole part instead of trying to force it into the turbo inlet got the part installed. Removing the under shield took longer than the inlet install. Hope this helps others that encounter the same issue. |

FTP Inlet
Purchased the FTP inlet pipe, which unlike the MST unit, is all-aluminum construction (minus a small silicone coupler). It was delivered to day and this weekend, I am replacing FMIC, CPs, inlet and DV with G-Plus, FTP, FTP and GFB DV+.
