Worth it for £500 on cosmetics alone for me!..
I've driven cars with and without and for everyday driving - commuting, shopping etc and there is nothing appreciably different in terms of safety etc. Where the MSport ones were better is if you're someone who really punts the car along the country roads and are in situations where you would do repeated deep braking. Yes that may be on the track, but you can still do this on the normal roads too on occasion. If you tested both on a distance to stop from 30 or 60mph I suspect there wouldn't be a lot in it, as braking performance here is limited as much by tyres than actual braking power (especially in the wet)... where the difference with the M sport brakes will be is the ability to repeat that more often before they fade. So again, this comes down to how you drive, where you drive and hence what your needs are. And yes, 18" wheels fit over the 335d brakes no problems, but that is the minimum size.

I did 48k miles in my 330i. I was still on the original pads when I sold it. I think it's safe to say I don't use the full performance of brakes
Just been to see my car with m sport+ (and therefore the blue brakes), and it was next to a 320D without the m sport brakes. Damn they look good . I am tempted to track my car, just for the giggles... |

Its a pity that you couldn't choose the colour of the calipers on the M Sport + pack. Yellow would have made our Superman specced cars a bit better :-)

I have the blue Brembo brake upgrade and I think they are superb. My Impreza STi had them too and I knew how good they were. They look fantastic send the bigger discs look amazing behind 19" & 20" alloys. I'm sure standard brakes are fine but I would have no doubt the stopping distances will be reduced with these. To retro fit will be costly as the Brembo calipers are dear. A specialist I know does some rally builds and front calipers and discs off a delivery mileage impreza would get snapped up at £850 + and technically those are secondhand.

In my opinion it is absolutely worth it, for looks alone if nothing else.
People would pay £300-500 for a carbon spoiler on the back so it's good value really. The M Sport system can be retrofitted, as can the M Performance system obviously. I sold my M sport system to someone on the forum when I moved to the M Performance setup. I'm guessing it's quite a rare upgrade so probably not many about for sale. Mat

I suspect that outside of an enthusiast forum like this, there are very few people who will drive much more than stock cars. On here there will be a disproportionate number of high end, high spec cars. In reality the number of 335i and 335 and 330d models sold will be small compared to the number of 318 and 320 cars. Brakes similarly are not something people think of investing in. Many will spend £500 or more for greater performance but rarely will they seek to improve stopping power.
