Question Driven F30 but drive E90 not tried E90 LCI facelift

The E90 facelift had many changes but I have never actually driven one. I have driven the F30 for quite some time and I presume then there would be no point in driving the E90 facelift to see how much change from the E90 pre facelift as the F30 is "better"? I hope I've made my post clear.

Other than the electric steering, other Efficient Dynamic tweaks and cosmetic changes, the track was also slightly wider. So, possibly better handling than the original E90?

Electric steering on the LCI was my first BMW and so better than my outgoing FWD Volvo.

F30 is a far superior car. I've only used comfort so far, so the steering is a tad light... But, still accurate and the car feels balanced.

Yep, comfort only... I'm trying to run her in reasonably kindly. I bought her for a 5-6 year run...

Still plenty of pace, obviously once when warmed up... And, changes at the recommended run-in 3500rpm when the legs are stretched...

As you can see, I've had all 3 models.

My first 330d pre-LCI had a bone crushingly awful ride bordering on the ridiculous.

The 330d LCI was noticeably more refined in the suspension department. Less crashy on identical Bridgestone run flats, much smoother ride but still suffered from a harshish ride and the tendancy to jump sideways out of potholes which really annoyed me. This was all cured by fitting non-run flats and made it a great car to drive improving ride and handling/steering. Apart from that, as said above, electric steering, a new N57 engine in the 330d (similar engine to the F30) and cosmetic differences.

The F30 is miles better again for refinement over the LCI E90, I certainly wouldn't want to go back to any E90, as good as it was.

In short, the E90 LCI is a bit better than the pre-LCI. But the F30 is A LOT better than the E90 LCI.

I think the only thing I miss about the E90 is the ride height.
This is standard for a M Sport E90................
