Enjoy the collection experience. Hope all goes smoothly. There are not many 335ds in NI from what I have seen. Mine was the first one to come out of JKC when I got it in January. Up until then I had only driven a couple of 330ds. Hopefully you will get a dry day.

Well what can I say, it has been a great day!!

Car spec for those that are interested:

F30 335d in EBII
Black Leather
MSport+
Pro Media
Vis Pack
HUD
Adaptive Suspension
Speed Limit Display
Front Heated Seats

Car looked stunning in the flesh after being prepped and the dealer handover was excellent - I was with the "Genius" for over an hour whilst he explained all the bells and whistles.

Driving out of the showroom with only 2.8 miles on the clock was a highlight!

First impressions of everything:

Refinement - that is the first thing that sprung to mind as a drove away from the garage, compared to my E90 the F30 is in a different league, it feels more solid, chunkier and therefore is quieter and more luxurious then I expected.

Cruising home from the garage in Comfort mode the suspension does a great job of soaking up the bumps - you still feel them they are just muffled - this is what I expected and am 100% pleased with the Adaptive Suspension choice - it should make it a lot more pleasant taking the whole family out.

The engine noise is much less intrusive but then I have gone from 4 to 6 cylinders. I've only done 45 miles today but already I can tell the engine is like a caged animal. The odd time I prodded the right foot - the 40 to *cough* 60 time is incredibly quick . Again this was in Comfort mode so I can only imagine what Sport mode is like when properly run in.

The HUD is quite simply amazing the best and coolest gadget I have ever spec'd on a car. It displays the speed, speed limit, navigation, adaptive cruise settings, phone numbers, current track playing (streaming via bluetooth) - it is simply genius. Now I like gadgets but I fail to see how anyone couldn't be impressed by this.

The ACC is another great gadget but I have had that on our other car for the last 4 years so the "gadget" value has worn off slightly - still I would never spec a car without out and it is great when combined with the HUD.

The speed limit display is good - the only reason I am not saying excellent is because the downside to it is the actual speed seems to reach the limit display far too easily and makes you conscious of the need to ease off. Of course this is the intention but it does come across as a bit of spoil sport

The Pro Nav is brilliant - too many bells and whistles to list here and if you spec'd it you know what it does. I am left handed so I find writing on the touchpad easy.

The HK audio is excellent although I have been too busy driving to listen to much music today so will report back on that in a few weeks.

Another jaw dropping gadget is the Adaptive Lights - I went out this evening on a busy country A-Road with no street lighting. Plenty of cars in either direction on sweeping 60mph bends. The light show it put on was unbelievable. I didn't get flashed once and the additional visibility you get is staggering compared to my old E90 halogens.

So all in all am I pleased?

Hell yes - the car has far exceeded my expectations in all areas - I am truly impressed and have had a cracking first day.

Of course I forget to mention the old faithful EBII!!!
Stunning colour - so glad I picked it in the end after much delibration. I found myself gravitating towards the windows in the house today to catch a glance at the car in the drive.

I'm waiting on mine from David Prentice in Portadown and I've found them to be a wee bit unresponsive. They gave me an estimated delivery date a few weeks ago of 16 Apr, how long before your delivery did they call to confirm? also how close to your estimated delivery date was the actual handover?

I haven't heard anything for a couple of weeks now, and Ive sent in a couple of emails.

It's hard to know if my expectations of them are too high as I'm maybe being a bit unreasonable due to the "wait fever"

Great post and it has really made me glad I added HUD along with other toys. The wait is starting to hurt more and more

I would agree with you somewhat - I actually rang them more than they phoned me - but then I was slightly obsessive checking the VIN Decoder until I saw the car was built etc. Mine was always on the computer for delivery week beginning the 7th April and I picked up the car on the 8th so very accurate.

They rang me about 10 days ago to say the car was arriving with them last Friday (4th April).

I took a photo of the HUD in-action this morning - apologies for the background

In this photo you can see the Speed Limit Display, the Adaptive Cruise (which was in full control of stopping / starting the car in crawling traffic), actual speed, external media symbol and my Derulo album where you can scroll up and down via the steering wheel to browse / select tracks. That album was playing via my iPhone 5 over bluetooth (and no I don't have EBT and haven't coded it yet).

If you have a destination in the nav directions also appear in the HUD as well.
