Remus exhaust failed
I was driving, in 5th gear, in Mexico. Redlined 5th gear and tapped the upshift paddle. I heard a back fire, the car stuttered for a second, and it sounded like a piece of metal leaving the car. I pulled over and took a look around and didn't see anything out of the ordinary.
Upon starting the car up again, I noticed that the exhaust was in the loud mode, which it should never start in. I switched from comfort to sport and back a few times and there was no difference. So I figured something had gone wrong with the valve. Lo and behold it looks like the valve is physically all bent out of shape. It won't close all the way. It looks bent and might be missing something. I think the valve tried to close against a lot of air and failed because the ECU forces the valve closed for the top 3 gears Last edited by Var; 09-16-2019 at 01:49 AM.. |

I don't understand the gear comment. There's a gear where the flap can't open? And you think it shut when you shifted?

Ya but they're not gonna pay for labor to repair it. I spent the money upfront so I wouldn't have to deal with cheap exhaust issues. But anyway I'll figure it out. If I can get a partial refund I'll keep it and deal with it myself
