My bulletproof 320i GT - Ask me anything
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com I am from Brazil and I bought a BMW 320i GT and modified to be LV IIIA bullet proof, (not originally bulletproof like those BMW security series vehicle) How much it cost? It cost around USD $10 - $15K (BRL 60-90k) EXTRA to bulletproof ANY car in brazil Not that expansive right? because: Brazil have highest bullet proof car ratio in the world!! (not a good thing lol) with 1% of all cars on the street armored , so its fairly common to own a bullet proof car especially in a big city like São Paulo where I live , which is one third of the entire Brazilian economy in only one estate. This 320GT cost 15k USD to bulletproof because of his especial up and down no frame window. How much weight it adds? Around 200 - 300KG Brazil has become pretty good and bullet proving their cars with more than 15 companies in the business, they have created one of the lightest and thinnest bulletproof windows without compromising the protection THIS WINDOW iS THICKKK BOIIIII No frame window bulletproof sollution Imbed police siron and megaphone Perfomance Original 0-100 km/h (0/60mph) = 7.9sec after armor0-100 km/h (0/60mph) = 9.0 sec i thought it was to weak so i spend 500USD to do a stage 1 remap + KN boosting 184cv to 270cv After remap with armour = 6,9 sec *clicks * , NOICE ! |

Mexico and Brazil.. they re the leading armored car markets..
its a need more likely since crime rate is quite high.. and people dont want to be killed for 10-20 dollars while they re waiting on a red light for example.. in even some regions its not advised to stop on a red light.. cause as long as you re moving you re safer..

I have an friend who robber shot his armored car and he just ran over him and his motorcycle. The robbers can easily identify a bulletproof vehicle by looking at the reflection of the window (has a rainbow reflection) or just tapping the window (which has occurred to me multiple times). And they will just be avoide it because is not worthen to rob an armored vehicle, who even has a police siren build in the car and an microphone to communicate outside。 It cant be dat bad right? More then 60% of peaple in brasil has been robbed gun point and 30% percent multiple times. reference: https://www.nube.com.br/clipping/201...tivas-de-roubo Its really uncommon to have bulletproof car in São Paulo not expensive ether |

That's awesome!
I didn't know there was a market for this. Do you do anything for the tires to prevent them from getting a flat if shot at? What happens in those scenarios?

Wow, just the thought of needing a bulletproof car is crazy to me. But I totally get it being a necessity because where you live.
Side note, sweet ride I kinda want a bulletproof car now lol. Is that Midnight Blue? If so I think that makes 3 of us now. |

There are several armored vehicle manufacturers in Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, etc as well that cater to clientele on both sides of the border. They make some very sweet, VERY expensive rides.
For reference on how notorious violent crime is in Brazil, videos from there are used in law enforcement training in the US for situational awareness and analysis. |

It's like visiting the Ritz in San Francisco for 3 days and thinking you know the US. Coincidentally (or not), San Francisco has a pretty high number of people like that...they've been to tourist resorts in 20 other countries, but have never ventured outside of San Francisco aside from going to Burning Man, Outside Lands, SXSW, or Vegas for a birthday party. |
