KW street comfort spring binding

Finally figured out what is causing my horrible noise. The spring coils are binding (lower two). How do I fix this?

you're not the first one. someone else had the same issue. look at all the coils compressed, there's hardly any room for more compression. those springs are too soft for the car.

Did you install the coilovers yourself or was it the installation done by a shop?

Thanks for sharing the picture. It appears the spring pre-load is excessive.

What car do you have? Is this on an F31 Sports wagon? I can't say that my springs were binding, but the stock springs that KW provided were not the correct spring rates, so any time I would drive over two adjoining unleveled surfaces, it sounded like my entire front end detonated as it slammed down.

As I only had them on for 2 weeks and had them professionally installed at the dealer, KW replaced the front springs with stiffer springs.

I knew of two other F31 wagon owners who also had to have springs replaced. Good luck.

Definitely is adjusted way higher than designed for. Collar is adjusted all the way up AND there is a spacer installed.

Lowering the collar and removing the spacer will reduce binding, if the height is unsatisfactory you'll need a stiffer spring. It must be riding and handling terribly with that much coil bind.
