These are slick but expensive: https://futureclassic.us/collections...eel-spacer-kit They utilize the rotor retaining bolt to hold down the spacer. Matt Morman of Obsessed garage just did a video on them for his e92 m3

Absolutely night and day. Original 225 Contis in first pic for reference. I think these look phenomenal. This is my first car ever on non-runflats and WOW. Just everything about it is better.
These Yokohama Advan Sport V105s are super solid so far and I immediately have a much better road feel, as expected coming from the Contiprocontact. Thanks everyone. alohasurftoad and wdeerfield y'all really helped a ton. |

I got a killer deal (under a $100 a tire delivered) on Nokian zLine A/S, a performance all-season tires size 235/45-18. I am mounting them next week and will take photos and report back. When I got them I inspected them and they are made in Russia. Amazing as I can not recall the last thing I bought that was made in Russia. That explains the price but I am not worried. Nokian is a smaller Finnish manufacturer but I have owned a number of their snow and all season tires before and really liked them. They are just under Michelin, Pirelli, Continental and then Nokian for tires geared to Northern cold regions. Nokian Hakkapeliitta's are my favorite snow tires for ski country with Michelin IceX as perfect for around town.

So I mounted the 235/45-18 tires. I think they look good on a stock height Xdrive 440i. It fills the gap and still has plenty of room and no rubbing. Actually the increased size is barely noticeable. The ride is better as these are not run flats. I used the same 32 PSI front and 35 PSI back pressure settings. My E92 coupe had Michelin Pilot Sports (pre 4S) which were wonderful but I went with a high performance all-season instead this time for my new F32. I went with an all season due its increased temperature range and to lesson how long I need to use my winter tire set. Its not a performance tire but will suit my area which can have cold nights in early spring and fall which the Michelin Pilot Sports 4 S or any summer performance tire are not designed for. So time will tell but so far so good. Note first photo was stock 225/45-18 size and others 235/45-18 size

Yes I agree. I think 235/45-18 is ideal for the stock 8" x18" rims and the xdrive stance. For performance its popular to get the 245/40-18 tire size but that is really best with a 8 1/2" rim not the stock 8" wide rim. It also does not decrease the wheel gap distance like the 235/45-18 does. For xdrive you want four square tires so you can't go too wide anyway. I know some people do but the wider the front the more the car wanders and need correction to stay straight.

I’m struggling with the same tire issues on my F31 M-Sport, I’m also in the NE, between Philly and NY. I’ve read that a few have gone to the “colonel” alohasurftoad, as I have. The pics and discussion in this thread is great. My question for jdg54 is what’s Mpact? I can only guess, M cars and good times?

Thanks, I’ll check out Mpact on instagram. I wasn’t aware of the event, bummed I missed..,
Your thread and the input from the guys here is very helpful. I was looking at the Yoko’s but wasn’t considering a wider tire 235/45/18 that would also give a slightly higher sidewall. I have Perelli’s 225/45/18, squared now, w the adaptive suspension and they look perfect, side view edge and they fill the wheel well. Makes me think the original owner lower it. |
