Actually it all looks like pipe with no resonator but the website says resonated. If there is a resonator I don't see it. The factory exhaust system that was removed you can clearly see resonators. Here is the Remus Midpipe

Probably the small buldge(s) at the end(s) of the straight pipe.

I remember test driving a 335 with aFe intake and Remus exhaust. Damn that sounded good but that clip sounds even better!

Love the way that sounds. I was worried at first when I heard this had a deeper exhaust note about drone, but sounds like that's not a problem. If anyone is selling a used axle back or cat back for a 340i let me know.

All of these exhausts introduce drone, it's just a matter of how much one can tolerate.

I have the axleback installed, and everything else stock. In comfort with the valve closed, the exhaust spikes in loudness inside the cabin between 1200-1800RPM , drops in volume once I get above 2K and then increases in loudness at a much slower rate. It's not the shifting point because it's the same when in manual.

The spike in loudness in that range is less apparent when the valve is opened as the loudness is then normalized. Overall, it is a much nicer experience inside and out, than the stock system, without being obnoxiously loud all the time. I say obnoxious as in a catless system with out a muffler.

Glad you like it! Test drive a 335 with one on. Sounded pretty badass but I didn't like the quad tips on that one car I drove though. Would have been perfect at dual imo.

Love my Remus on my 340. I somehow lost the spring for the valve and they quickly shipped a new one at no charge. Pointless now though since I decided to just leave valve always open

I believe someone did it on the forum and required minor to no modification

So while the .02% of drivers that drive a 340i/440i may like to hear their exhaust, a good 90% of the rest of the people on the road don't. That's why there are noise ordinances and legal requirements around how loud your exhaust can be. The majority considers it an annoyance.

And on top of that, the enthusiasts or other people that don't mind some exhaust sounds will still have a preference on what sound they want to hear. So your muffled 6 banger annoys a portion of those people too. Just look at the reviews for the F8x exhaust note. Even I think most people on F30Post make their cars sound horrible and raspy because the most common mods are catless downpipes and resonator deletes/midpipes. Anywhere other forum will say that rasp is the enemy but for some reason bmw people love it imo an axle back produces the best sound. but that's why there are multiple options available, because everyone has different tastes.

Not to mention that a majority of people do not/cannot pay an additional $1500 on their car's price for an exhaust they can live without. Hence why it is a port installed option and not something that can be equipped at the factory. It actually wastes BMW money to slow down their line and add installation stations for the mperformance bits that the few of us actually opted to spend the $$ for an OEM product vs eBay or some other aftermarket offering.

And a proper exhaust is not increasing the performance of your car. You're maybe getting 5 peak hp with a straight pipe, and every muffler/resonator that's included knocks it down 1 or 2. All it's doing in the real world is giving you more sound.

At the end of the day, people on this forum are in the minority. We just give each other a false sense of reality. If you look at the road you'll see a sea of 4 cylinder f30s with every option except msport and track handling, because what most of us care about is not what most people care about.
Kern, its almost bed time and figured you would want a lullaby

It's amazing
