KW SC Rear Rebound Adjustment. HELP SOS

Hey guys i got KW street comfort installed but the shop installed them not stiff enough and I’m bouncing all over the place on these California roads. Anyone know how to adjust the rear? Can’t seem to find it. Cars currently in jack stands.

Sadly you're going to have to take it all apart or bring it back to the shop. The adjustment screw is on the top of the shock

Is it possible to go through the trunk lining?

don't scare him like that with false information.

All you have to do is jack up the car, take off the wheel, undo the 3 bolts holding the top mount, press down on the shock and reach in with the supplied adjusting knob to adjust. Easily done in under 30 mins for each side.

How is one more bolt "scary", but not these instructions? The OP had to come to a forum to ask how to adjust his coilovers, so, I don't think they're mechanically inclined. That kind of information is easily sourced with certainty, if you are moderately experienced with cars.

Did you not read that he mentioned its got to all be taken ALL apart? I don't see how the intructions are scarey, most of the work is removing the wheel-tire from the car which every driver on the road should know how to do.

Does the rear springs have to come out? NO
Does the rear shock have to come out? NO
Does the rear hub carrier have to be undone? NO

There is a lot more than taking 1 more bolt when its ALL got to come out. Him asking doesn't mean he's unable to do so with simple guidance. Don't underestimate the ability of others so easily. A lot of ppl can and will prove you wrong.

He's asking for instructions and help, that's what I did here. So what are you offering to help in this thread?

This was a huge deciding factor me when I was shopping for coilovers. I decided on bilsteins since rebound adjustment were on the bottom.

But they're correct. You need to remove wheel and loosen of the top bolts to access the rebound dial. It's easy to do as long you follow directions. Or just ask your local f30 fb page for help.

Yeah I’ve had this for probably 3 weeks and I’m not the biggest fan. I’ll probably sell them and just get bags come winter.

The shop should've left them at default recommended rebound setting unless you asked them to make it way softer. I actually initially told them I wanted it soft and they told me to at least try default for a few weeks first. KW put a lot of consideration into their recommendation.
Take it back to the shop and have them fix it if they didn't ask you or if they set it at any level other than default without telling you.
My SC's are default rebound setting in the rear and they feel great. Really happy with them after 1 month.

Bags seem like a lot more overhead but controlling everything with a button might be worth it.

In any case there are two bolts holding the top of the shock the vehicle, then the single down below. They're not difficult to compress and pull out from under the wheel arch. Adjustment is on top and should be pretty simple to maneuver. A shop should be able to do this for you in 20mins.

I think I'll go Bilstein. I like that the KW SC are the right height. I'd go v2 or v3 but even at its highest setting they're SLAMMED. Sounds like KW messed up specs for f30.

They didn't mess up. But the rear IS lower than the front at its highest setting.

Almost every coilover for this car drops the car the same from base height, 25-30mm. The street comfort versions of KW and Bilstein both max out at ~10mm from base height.

People have said though that v2/v3 at their highest setting is still stupid, stupid low. If I could get v2/v3 to do 25mm drop that'd be awesome, but even KW told me they lower like 60 - 100mm. Its silly. Someone said they took the E90 kits and adapted and didn't account for x y z.

Lower the better to me. My rear is maxed out on these SC and they aren’t low enough lol.

Sure but some would like to put the car to almost stock height in winter, etc.

Trust me I have a car that scrapes on a nickel on the street... but for my daily, I need to put it back up a bit in the winter months.

There is a comfort version of the V2 called the KW V2 Comfort Kit (in English) part number 1802000S (for 335 + 340 xDrive AND 435 + 440 Xdrive both without EDC). Front is 15mm - 45mm, rear 20mm to 51mm
