Sourcing Parts
I am looking for some help in sourcing parts. I am such a newbie in this arena, for sure. So please forgive me when I say "I am struggling to find parts online". Sometimes I get confused as all hell haha.
I found this image online. And I am in love. It says that it's a 4GC. And I am in love with the look/style. I want these Rocker Panels badly. Mine (Base GC) are so boring. But I can't seem to find them online, or similar. For the 4 GC. Every time I find Rocker Panels for the 440i . . it has a disclaimer *Does not fit GC. And yet, I see them out there. Any suggestions? |

Get some 4 GC M Sport side skirts and they will look much better than the base GC side skirts. Something like the below.

Honesty, I get so confused. I thought the Rocker was the lower body of the side of the car . . . mine looks boring and flat. Others have a sporty line indent that makes it look aggressive. And I thought the skirts were on the bottom of the rocker flaring out . . . BUT . . .I get so confused haha. And then when you google, it just gets more confusing. Google Rokers Google Skirts and then you will understand why a newbie can't make heads or tails on it LOL.
I have looked at many popular sites for skirts, and bumpers. Usually, when I find a rocker that I like . . . for the 4 series. It will have a special notation all the way at the bottom details *does not fit GC. and so that's why I am saying that. It seems as if the GC has a different size rocker? I don't know haha. I even asked Kies about one of their splitters and they told me I would probably have to modify it/cut it for the GC . . . |

The side skirts and rocker panels are interchangeable terms. The carbon fiber slats are side skirt extensions. This particular kit also comes with the M Performance style side skirt sticker. Take a look at my car and it's the same thing just the side skirts and stickers aren't OEM. BMW to my knowledge doesn't sell carbon fiber side skirt extensions for the F chassis so those are always aftermarket. |

These had been out of stock for a long time, but just came in yesterday and I ordered
https://www.ebay.com/itm/382128847597 Thanks again for that link. I know that costs vary greatly but . . .was wondering what it might cost (estimate) to have them painted and installed. Do I keep the old rockers? lol - for the event that I sell ? Would holding the old OEM ones have any value for next owner? Quote:

Keeping the old ones is up to you but usually it's a good idea keeping OEM parts if you sell the car. Usually people want a car back in stock form or at least give a potential buyer the option even though the M Sport rockers look much better. Take some pics after you get them installed if you can. |

I am kinda excited. The Rocker panels and extensions arrived today. Let me say that the company (Best Racing Motors) was GREAT to work with. I had a shipping snafu and Tom was on top of everything . . . on the phone with me and UPS to ensure delivery went well. Job well done.
I am also LOVING these rockers. Wow . what a huge difference (from base) they will be for my baby. Ohhhh, how I love her. This is exciting. I am dropping them off to the body shop tomorrow to be painted. Hoping to have them installed sometime next week when they are ready. Will post May decide NOT to keep the original panels. I knew the would be big haha. But I didn't realize in my head (THAT big) lol. I live in an apartment. I really don't have a place to store stuff like that. |

Body shop painted the Rocker Panels today. They need to cure for a few days. And then the soonest available date I could get her in was Friday July 22nd.
I am not a patient person . . two weeks is going to kill me haha. |
