Can I use a computer to delete airbag codes?

Context

I am rebuilding a salvage title 2014 335xi. It is my first rebuild and I am getting to the final stages of the build rn. But in the crash the airbags and the driver seatbelt blew, and now the srs light is on and seatbelt light is on.

Question?

Is it possible to use some kind of scanner or computer to erase or delete the airbag code/fault and not have to worry about it? Or do I have to replace/reset the airbag module? For a lot of cars you have to reset the module but I heard with bmws you should be able to just delete the codes. I just wanted to see if anyone knew 100%?

It won't clear/delete if there is a hard fault aka the airbags went off. You will have to replace the affected airbags and the seatbelt tensioner, then you can reset everything. It's also a safety risk to you and your occupants if you drive around with no airbags. You can drive as careful as you want but you will NEVER know what will happen on the road. Not worth your lives.

Ahh thanks! Yea I forgot to add that I already replaced all the airbags. I was just asking if I had to take the airbag module out from under the gear shifter out to reset, or if a computer will delete the codes and do the job.

You need a program called Tool32, this will clear the codes for you.

yes you can use a scanner to delete the srs faults, if you changed correctly the airbags. you can use insta+ also. Be carefull some of the conectors have a plastic part on the upper part if you brake the pins it has the airbag wont me activate it or even recognized by the vehicle to erase properly the fault.
