Canadian Pre-Own in US

I've been looking at acquiring a 330xi and noticed that some of the dealers are selling 330's imported from Canada. They seem to be priced lowered than a comparable US market car. I read that US dealers will not cover warranty or recalls on them. Most of the cars are out of the warranty period anyway. Is it worth the risk?

I'm not sure of any risk. The car should be fine and work the same in USA or Canada.

There is no risk. You will need to ensure they are compliant for US registration. For example, we have a KPH only speedo, US has a KPH/MPH. Guy I worked with was moving to the US, and he needed to get TPMS installed before they'd register his Honda (Canada only has the "count how many revolutions" tire monitor.

Beware of rust, I've seen 4 year old cars from Ontario that looked like they came from the bottom of the Atlantic underneath.

Rigorous inspection is highly recommended for any Canadian vehicle because of rust issues.
