Cars you still miss..

Saw a guy get into a TVR today. Open door, roof down, fire her up and rumble away.

At that point I really did have a pang for my old old one!

Anyone else miss certain Cars?

Wish I'd kept my original E30 325i... can't believe I sold it for £1500!

Miss the Z4 too.

My MkV Golf GTI. Great car - first since the early ones to feel like a GTI again. Sold it because it was an import and I was panicking about resale values. Traded in for a Toyota RAV4 - made selling it even worse!

Really miss my Integra Type R DC2. Wasn't the most powerful (180bhp), but nothing can come close to that engine screaming in the VTec round to 10,000 rpm, when you dropped it into 3rd at 80mph and floored it!
So loud in the cabin, you could barely hear your passenger talking - the only car I've ever owned where the stereo is an optional extra, because you generally can't hear it if you're using the car right!!

I had a Griffith in that colour, 4 litres and last of the pre-cat but an early one. 1993 ish from memory. Used to park it reverse up against the wall at work. At tickover I would spontaneously orgasm most days.

Miss it.

About '84 I had an MG Metro Turbo in white. Miss that too.

Other cars were interesting and noteworthy (Renault GTA, Baur 323i for example) but don'y miss any of them particularly.

I miss being young and spontaneous though!

Nice. Yes that paint was great deep blue to purple depending on the light. Mine was a 4.5 one of the last chims made. I saw it advertised on pistonheads a few years later in a right state and wish most upset.

I've had a few nice cars - and a few boring ones too.

Lotus Carlton. That was fun. Lairy though, Turbo lag was brutal.
Volvo 850 T5-R (saloon, in yellow). Hilarious. Use to eat front tyres though, 6k miles max.
TVR Chimaera 450 in olympic blue. Also fun. Also lairy.
Impreza Terzo 3. Fun. Not lairy in the slightest.

Z4 3.0 coupe. Not much fun, tbh. Suspension was too hard, meaning constant corrections on anything but the smoothest surface.

I don't really miss any of them though.

Two for me, my C63 Coupe which I adored. I came very close to buying a C63 507 before ordering my 440i but couldn't find a good enough car. Only a Ferrari or Lambo would give me more satisfaction than my C63.

My second favourite is my second Honda S2000. I've already decided to hunt down an early 2003 model which I also owned. This was a 2006. No pics of my 2003.

Two come to mind, one was my Volvo 850 T-5R, mental beast with hybrid turbo, custom map, silly suspension and exhaust, and the other was my late friend's Mazda MX-5 10th Anniversary. This was completely standard and an absolutely amazing machine. The most fun car I've driven to date. Nice supple suspension and chassis, phenomenal road holding and very comfortable. I loved this car until I lost it on a diesel spill

After about a dozen cars (a modest number by forum standards) the only two I really miss are a Mk2 Golf GTI and an E39 M5. Both very chuckable and the M5 engine was great.

I have had larger and more luxurious cars, but it's the ones that connected me with the road that I miss.

One day I am just gonna buy a C63 in this style to sit on my drive and take it out for blast every now and then, my mate has one and I get very jealous!

Same here. Sold mine for the R32. The GTi was a better car.

I made a similar mistake - I sold my Mk2 GTI to get a Mk3 VR6 company car. Fantastic engine, and better materials, but the handling was nowhere near as good, and I think that good handling is the key to making a car enjoyable.

I find myself borrowing my other half's Mini Cooper D 5dr quite often. On paper it looks rather dull with just 116bhp (the 116d engine), but the way it tackles corners is addictive. It might even end up as one of the cars I miss when we eventually sell it.
