For those who bought used : how'd you find it?
Cars.com? Autotrader? BMW's CPO section?
I'm having a hell of a time finding what I want. Dealers post pictures of cars that don't match descriptions. Filtering by blue paint jobs gives me black sapphire and mineral grey cars - on BMW's own website, not even the 3rd party ones. Some of the 3rd party ones you can't filter by options, so I have to hunt through pictures manually to find one with M-sport. Most don't say whether or not they have the adaptive M suspension. Descriptions are all over the place with gran coupes being mixed in with 2-door coupes, "premium" audio but no HK or B&O audio package, etc. I'm finding it very frustrating, almost like it was designed to make you say screw it and just order brand new tailored to what you want. I want:
I feel like that's not asking a lot aside from the adaptive suspension, and I'm willing to flex on that considering I haven't driven it back to back with a non-adaptive to see how much of a difference it makes (bay area roads are pretty crappy though). Other options I'd like but am willing to sacrifice since buying used:
Options I DON'T want, at all:
So far, just trying to find something (a 435i or 440i, used) in Tanzanite blue has by itself proven nigh-impossible, let alone any of the other option packages. Is my timing just off and all the lease return Tanzanite Blue 435i's and 440i's won't be coming in for months still? Something else? Looking in the wrong place? |

My suggestion...
Use bmw USA pre owned locator on the bmw site - you are limited to a couple hundred mile radius as I recall - expand your search area by putting different zips in - get vin number on cars that look like they are targets for you and run bmw vin decoder to verify options |

True Car to find the car, and bought from Carvana. Best trade in value I could get and a very fair price on my current 428. Little weird buying a car sight unseen but all worked out well.

It combines every listing from every site. Although I don't think BMW CPO is included.

When I got mine, an excellent warranty was non-negotiable.
I wish I'd have waited for the "rare" M Sport in CarMax's inventory, but I'm happy with what I got after making some mods. I have warranty to 100,000 miles, and i had the option of as low as a $50 deductible per service visit.

That is a very rare color--I almost never see that here in the bay area. I would call several dealers and let them know what you are looking for. Let them be hungry and do the work and find the car in their network and bring it to the dealership.

Highly recommend CarMax. Stole my car from there.
$54k sticker price. Bought with 29k miles on it for $19k. No issues whatsoever. Brought my old car in (to trade) and left about 4 hours later in the Bimmer. https://www.carmax.com/search#BT=0&D...ey=0&Zip=95828 |
