In case anyone is interested in doing it themselves there is a similar system from Autoglym that some dealers offer, and charge about £300 for. From what little i can find on the net it sounds like the paint and glass sealants are good but the interior stuff isn't great.

Anyway, you can get the kit meant for professionals on ebay for £13 including cloths and spray bottle etc. i know some will say if it's that cheap it can't be any good, but i am willing to give it a go a that price!

My fellow snob,
All these products are cr^p. Don't bother. The cars I have left as standard had the best paint surfaces over a period of years.

All of them? You mean even the gtechniq stuff?

What are you basing this on?

Nothing wrong with a good polish and layer of wax to make it sparkle

I am having seal and protect as part of deal - no cost etc.

However, can you put waxes, glaze etc on top without any issues?

Current car I snow foam, wax etc, usually from autobrite, as it's just up road.

For my alloys, I have been using Swiss wax rim wax, lasts ages and smells good.

Admittedly asking someone to smell your rim wax is a conversation stopper lol.

I've found if you treat 'em mean, you keep 'em keen and they are all the better for it.
Only keep 'em for 2-3 years. Always nice to try a virgin as soon as is convenient.

That last sentence made me chuckle!
Anyway, back to your question...I've been told by a gtechniq rep that you can't go over the top of ceramic coats with regular waxes and sealants. Apparently the ceramic coating needs to be completely taken off (with a polishing machine) before adding another coating of your choice. I went for a polymer sealant from AutoBrite so that way I can go over the top with whatever waxes I like. That's until it needs clay barring of course...

Yeah, I had that feeling, will probably keep it on for a bit see how it goes.

Then pop it to detailers - no chance of me using machine.

Current car is nicely cherry glazed etc for winter and of course smooth n shiny rims.

Just needs a quick karcher job when needed, need to get some more snow foam - keeps neighbours amused.

I don't believe seal and protect is ceramic (someone correct me) so you can go over with whatever you like in future...

Yeah it's good but not the miracle juice.

Autobrite do a good deal on magi foam and snow foam lance, it fits on end of pressure washer.

Leave it the car 5 mins and it's on the drive all weekend lol.

Checkout their site.

Well i have ordered the gtechniq C5 Wheel Armour as it looks brilliant, and wheels are the only part i struggle to clean!

I'll try the Autoglym paint & glass protectors and see how they go, if they're no good i'll consider the other gtechniq stuff.

Same here with the wheels, it's my age lol.

That's why I spend so long on them couple times a year.

Will be interesting the threads on cleaning, waxing, etc come the sunny weather, assuming we have some lol.

Already got list of waxes I want to try out, I use my wife's car as a driving test bed for them lol.

I've received the C5 wheel armour and panel wipe and with them came a 10% off code for the website of the ebay seller that i bought from. It says the code will do multiple uses (so don't know if it's unlimited) for next 3 months, so if anyone wants to buy any gtechniq stuff from their site let me know and i'll PM you the code.

website is www.perfectlycleaned.co.uk they have a lot of cleaning stuff from many different brands!

got all my gear from theultimatefinish.

Got zaino z9 and z10 for the leather and a good brush, keep leather clean is one of the best ways to preserve so I hear.

Got some poorboys wheel sealant - got good reviews and also some bilberry wheel cleaner.

I bought the autobrite magiform group buy deal, might try it out tomorrow on my car to flog

Just need a wax I think or seal - not quite sure on these things, ie what to apply after the clean!

The magi foam is good, if you ain't used it before, can be fiddly to get mixture right.

Check out my clean your car link above, has some good pointers. Detailing world forum is best place for advice.

I considered the poorboys wheel wax, until i noticed it said recommended to be applied EVERY time you wash the wheels! gtechniq C5 claims to last up to 1 year!

I use swissvax a couple times a year, it last, I try not getting snow foam or direct pressure wash on it, just quick spray or wipe.
