Buying site unseen so far has only worked on private sellers for me
Appreciate the feedback - yeah, always rolling the dice buying remote. My last 5 cars were all bought site unseen...some panned out well; others had stuff not disclosed. Dealers always seem to not disclose things if possible vs PP. End of day, its always more comforting to buy something close but with some of these unicorns, you just have to play the odds.

Man I’ve called that dealer in Oakland 10+ times. They intentionally slow play then raise the price of the car. This dealership plays all the games.

This makes me love cars and bids even more.

2018 Alpine m sport with 403m 19" wheels - asking 30300 with all fees, etc. 56k miles. Clean fax - just has some undercarriage rust starting in various areas...if thats not a huge concern to you, this is your car as its super clean otherwise and a nice spec.

I lived in Michigan, I don't mess with rust. I'd take a salvage title over rust. Thanks for lookin out. Why are the deals always white

I am actually chatting with that dealer and they sent me a bunch of pics:

What do y’all think of the rust? Too bad to purchase? Very torn as it’s a good price and has good options/mileage.

I was torn as well...refer to pic 6834 in your shared file from dealer. The rear diff is rusted out. No thx - that's when I took a hard pass. They tried to tell me the mechanics thought it was in good shape for being a 2018...I was like this thing is only 4-5 years old and its rusting all over on all the exposed bolts and components.

Ooof yeah you’re right, thanks! It looks like the lower control arms must have been replaced recently as those bolts are like the only ones not rusted….probably best to just keep looking.

I mean, if you can 1600Veloce dry ice blast that rust away, may be a good buy...looked really clean until the undercarriage. I was bummed out but glad I saw it.

Yeah, probably not worth the risk IMO. Seems like every time one of these pops up they are in the rust belt. Harder to find this car than my e92 M3 (single hump, CF roof, comp, manual, Interlagos).

If that car lived in Michigan do not buy it. I like calculated risks, but this isn't one.

Worse - Quebec lol. I live in WI and have had nothing but shiny nuts/bolts/exposed steel on undercarriages of my cars over the years - just dont drive when there is fresh snow and road salt...and if you do, just get a wash with undercarriage flush. Problem solved.

For those in market looking for a So Cal Msport F31 - there is one in Cerritos for 32.8 that's minty and only 24k miles - black on black, heated front/rear plus wheel, rear shades, etc. I've done black/black a few times now - looking for something different otherwise its a great deal!

Sure, but I'm not getting in an airplane or shipping one in hopes that person thinks like you. You're the outlier there. Not ever worth the risk.

Nice, I'm picking up an X3 M sport for my wife this week she likes it more and it'll satisfy my bimmer needs. I think I'm taking a break from looking, that's when I usually find what I want anyhow.

Thanks for sharing, hers is black on black so I gotta find something else!
