Yeah the F30 really is far more aggressive. I think the F30 is actually a more attractive car all together.

Kinda like it. The styling will grow on me. I like the MSport wheels. But it doesn't seem to make e9x obsolete (as, imo, going from the e46 --> e9x made the styling and interior of the previous model look old and obsolete).

Plus... it's slower? And it has the same N55 with the same numbers as the LCI 335i coupe... which seems to make my 'is' an even rarer and better option! (n54, dct, styling, exclusivity, etc)

Again, I actually do like the looks. the f30 grew on me (especially MSport when moded nicely). Interior looks great! But, still kinda plasticky like the F30.

Idk, hopefully I'm not flamed for my opinion. Just not 'wowed' by this car at all!

Can't wait to see what the M4 brings, hope I'm pleasently surprised!

I am sure it will look better in person. But I want to see the new M3 / M4.

One more observation...

The back looks like a cheaper 6 series, just like the f30 back looks like a cheaper f10 5 series. It just seems like BMW is going in one direction with all their cars, allowing for cheaper models and variations (sedan, coupe, convertible, grancoupe). IMO, the 3, 5, 6, 7 were totally differentiated cars in past years, not that the 3 was the cheaper 5 and the 5 was the cheaper 7, and this 4 coupe is now just a more affordable 6...

Not really, the 3 outperforms the 5, and the front looks quite different. I think the 5 looks pretty bad next to a 3 MSport. And this 4 looks pretty crappy too next to a 3 MSport. It reminds me of a G37 actually.

It does look like pepboys. Hate to say it. I bet the M4 will have it more integrated into the body work.
They'll still upgrade when they can afford to. And then in 6 years they'll be complaining about the new 4 design, and say that BMW is ruining the brand for true enthusiasts, like F32 owners.

And somehow we'll just have to live with the side vents. As Jason said (repeatedly), they're functional. The M badges, however, are not. So maybe everyone here who has an M-Sport package and not a true M car and bitches about there being too many M badges on new models can lead by example and take them off theirs. No, didn't think so...

A 328 can be more expensive than a 535

Seems like BMW isn't going for performance anymore. 5 series looks classier than its cheaper looking 3 counterpart (imo). And a 550i will blow away a 335i, at least in a straight line. The 5 also has a much more luxurious interior and more tech.

I haven't driven the new 3 sedan, or a 5 series, I'm going based soley on looks and how similar they do look, with the 3 just being a downsized version (again, imo)

BUT, from everything I've heard from close friends who have driven the new 3er coming from an e92, the steering and handling is just 'floaty'... you can push the e9x harder and feel more confident, even if the two cars have the same engine and power output.

Again, I think BMW is saving all of the performance for the M3/4 and they cheapened out on these base models, (and made it a gimmick with all the M badging everywhere).

I do like the MSport lines out of them all, but I don't think it puts down the power like it looks.

Idk, the e9x has closer performance to the e46 M3 than the e46 base model it replaced; yet this F30 has similar, if not worse, performance numbers and steering feel than the car it is replacing... let alone, stock for stock, a 335is is still on another level! One would think that the new car would at least have similar numbers to the 335is... we all know BMW can produce those numbers with that engine!

The F30 has not underperformed the E90 in instrumented tests. This applies to both the 328 and 335i

Right, but it's not blowing it out of the water by any standards, right?

Idk, I just kinda think that they should have bumped up the MSport line in price a bit and given it the DCT, and the 320hp, 335lb/ft torque. I mean, they already have a normal sport line (and luxury and modern)... why not differentiate the MSport model and at least have it ALMOST warrant the M badging all over it.

I really wanted to be impressed by this car; I really wanted to be jealous, but it's making my love my 335is even more!

I will definitely be test driving it when it hits showrooms though, just for comparison sake.

I have the msport with 320/332. I bought the PPK from BMW to get to that. It's available if you want it.

Update
Just saw you have the 335is. It's tough to let go of that for this one from a performance perspective. But the only place to go from the is is the M3. F30/32 is not going to work out I think

Ah, that is true. I almost forgot about that.

Still, I think it's missing something. I just don't know. Not overly suprised by the car... It literally looks like the F30, but with 2 doors ripped out. And especially from the back, it just looks like a cheaper, smaller 6 series.

I will withhold all judgements until I see and drive the car in person I guess. Who knows, I could change my mind.
