440i vert trade offer sucks

I know the used car market is dead... but this sucks. 18 month old 440i convertible in Lava Grey (individual) with ivory merino, and an original list price of £60k due to huge spec (not that I paid anywhere near that)

Offers are at £23k wbac £21k ffs

Sign of Brexit nervousness? Just really surprised. Cheapest 2018 440i is about £31k on autotrader. Oh well.

I've said before but the list is irrelevant (it was to you at purchase so no point in bringing it into the equation now) Extras like individual paint don't add anything it's just a grey 4 series to the trade regardless of the cost at purchase, same with merino leather it's just leather to WBAC's algorithm. (although weirdly both are very appealing options when we're shopping for cars so they do add to the saleability of the car but sadly not to the trade in value)

But that does seem a bit of a bid in the bollocks, I have a friend who is a keen buyer of BMWs and that car seems just what he'd buy, PM me the full spec if you want and I'll put you in touch.

In terms of the current used car market my friend has never been busier although he prices his stock to sell, others seem to like them to hug the showroom floor.

Perhaps also a case of depressed vert prices as we move into the winter months ? Hard top verts are still cosy warm of course, but if there's less opportunity to drop the roof then Joe Punter may not pay over the odds compared to a saloon.

The car is still on the steep part of its depreciation curve - never going to help.

Hopefully some of the potential leads mentioned above can help to ease the pain.

Absolutely - pick a sensible price that you want and if the car is what you say and the price you want gives them a margin, it can be sorted quickly and much less painfully. Got me £2.5k more for my SQ5, sold and gone within 3 days, money in my account (well, mainly the finance companies!)

You are trying to sell a vert at the worst possible time though, I'd imagine you could run it another 4 months and lose nothing!

Have you tried a auction site that sells to the trade? I did quite well on Wizzle.

People on here have bought in NI and brought back to mainland I think so apart from a few additional transport costs what is to stop a Stratstone or Sytner dealer selling it on? (other major dealer groups are available).

Could be interested in your contact in the trade if you don’t mind shearing.
