MPE (M Performance Exhaust) model year differences

Apparently there are two versions of MPE, old one and new one. Can anyone confirm the difference between 1st Gen 2012: 773/774s vs new Gen's 339/440s? From what I read the newer version have more solid looking tips and maybe better sound than the old one?

Old (since 2012):
18302293773 - Euro version
18302293774 - U.S. version

New (started ??):
18302354339 - Euro version
18302354340 - U.S. version (louder than Euro supposedly)

These are the tips I have on my 328's MPE that I installed two years ago. Don't understand how they're "new".

Yeah, I agree, I've heard both, and not noticed a difference both inside and out.

However, the tips are different. The new one is reverse louvered almost? Old is straight cut, barrel style.

I believe they changed the exhaust part number and redesigned the tips only to allow them to charge separately for the tips ($100 extra per tip) and also give you the option to further upgrade to the carbon fiber tips ($220 per tip). The exhaust design is mostly unchanged, and I would guess as is the sound and performance. Did I say $$$?

I don't understand: you have NOT noticed a different between 339 and 340 version of the new MPE??

Tips are the same for 339 and 340 version, but are totally different from the old ones.

Can anyone comment on whether there's a sound difference between old and new? (Not U.S. Vs Euro).

Yes I have not.

DVC and I did back to back drives in each other's cars; he has a new one with 13k on the clock, I have an old one with 33k.

No audible differences inside and out.

No, sorry, but we're talking of difference things: I believe that there are no differences between the new MPE and the old one.
But we were referring to the comparison between 339 version and 340 version, both new MPE

So the change is just aesthetics? US versions still sound the same and are they still louder than the Euro's?

You can order both version in Europe now. Whats more, when I ordered my MPE last week the guy in bmw shop, told me, after puting my vin numbers into the system, that I need 340 to my 435i. Of course, after reading all those threds about 339 I would have ordered it anyway.

Just trying to clarify for my own understanding,
I have this:
Old (since 2012):
18302293774 - U.S. version

So aside from the tip style, it should sound identical to this:
18302354340 - U.S. version (louder than Euro supposedly)

???

Not sure, smithf32. I had the old on the 2013 and new on the 2015 and there's not too much difference. I'll give it another thousand miles or so....

In every video I've heard the old one sounds quieter and has a different tone

I got 2,000 miles on this one. With the warmer weather finally here I can drive wth the windows down and not need a parka. Will listen closer and lower the radio. You're probably right!
