My custom order F30 should be available for pickup tomorrow. I have seen posts with horrible delays and cars sitting at the port or VPC for a long time, so I thought I would post a timeline where nothing bad happened. Please note I had no special colors and no port installed options. Either of these factors would affect things. The dealer had an allocation and there were no parts delays.

July 7 placed order with a deposit - I immediately got a production number
July 18 Started production
July 24 Body shop, paint shop
July 25 Assembly, production done
July 26 Factory released, waiting for transportation to port
July 30 At port
August 5 Ship leaves Bremerhaven
August 19 East coast, US - Baltimore
September 4 West Coast, U.S. - Port Hueneme (after going through canal)
September 6 Released from VPC, having cleared Customs, loaded on truck
September 7 Gets to dealer, also in California
September 8 (hopefully) picked up

The only delay was one day spent anchored off northern Mexico, rather than docking at port on Labor day holiday

Even though it went normally, the wait is still stressful. Adding to my stress was the fact that I sold my previous car (F32) early in the process and needed to share my wife's Prius

2 months with delivery on US West Coast is actually a very reasonable timeline. Congratulations!
