Thanks! I can't wait to get rid of the base line wheel that's on there now!

$500 for paint and install!? Where? I was quoted $1200.
At the local shop just up the street from me. Pretty much the same at all shops around me for each end. About $1000 for front and rear together.

Yup. It is. People often forget the best mod they can do is for yourself. Get thee some driver education. Learn better car control. It pays dividends. Then, after you have at least done one class, go spend money on car parts.

If you are not a member already go join the BMW CCA, and look and see when your local chapter has their next HPDE.

Seems like an extremely cool course for people who are interested in that.

However, I'm not so sure I'd go as far as to say that the everyday A to B driver needs professional race training before they buy a few cosmetic mods for their car.

Respectfully disagree, learning how to control you vehicle at and near it's limits can reap some mighty good dividends in an accident avoidance situation.

I couldn't agree more. Believe me, I've had first hand knowledge of how badly most people drive on a daily basis for almost a decade now. This program would be a great benefit to almost every driver on the road.

I'm just making the point that it's perfectly reasonable for someone to spend their money on a few cosmetic mods before doing so if they so desire.

Honestly, I agree with most everything you guys are saying. The only reason I initially disagreed was because cncmastr suggested, in a thread where I was asking for opinions on three specific cosmetic mods I was interested in purchasing, that it should be done before buying anything else for my vehicle.

He seemed to be under the impression, understandably, that high speed driving and evasive maneuvering wasn't something I'd previously been trained in. In fact, I have quite an extensive background in this type of driving and driver's training. Though, as I mentioned, I had never heard of this particular course before.

Truly, I understand it's benefits better than most. I just think that telling every person that they should sign up for that course before doing anything else to their car is a tad bit unrealistic.

Thanks for all the feedback guys!

Got the M Sport steering wheel installed yesterday and I love it. You guys were absolutely correct about getting to enjoy it every time I drive.

Love the steering wheel so far!

Ended up splurging a bit and buying the M Performance interior trim kit too. Selling my old steering wheel and (hopefully) selling the dark burl walnut trim kit should definitely help offset some of the cost.

Unfortunately not. My car didn't have any originally so I wasn't sure I wanted to add the wiring and do the coding to accommodate them.

I bought mine brand new off eBay from a BMW dealership in New Jersey for $740. I'm hoping to get rid of my old trim kit to offset a bit of the cost.

Very nice indeed!

How about some M5 style smoked taillights?

I've always thought the OEM taillights are too red!

On a blacked out F30, I think the smoked taillights would look awesome.

Thoughts?

I love that idea. Thanks.

Just dropped off the M Sport bumpers I recently purchased at a shop to be painted. So that takes care of everything on the original list I made.

Your smoked tail lights suggestion might be my next move...

Well, just completed everything on the original list.

-M Sport Steering Wheel
-M Performance Interior Trim Kit
-M Sport Bumpers
-Black Chrome Exhaust Tip

What's next??

I'll upload some better photos of the bumpers once the weather warms up a bit.

Looks great! I really like the M-Sport convert. Really change the overall looks. Any plans on lowering the car?
