Installed the M-Sport steering wheel by myself. Turned out really good!

Took some time with the airbag etc but nothing major. Very satisfied with the result!

The M-Sport steering wheel is a night and day difference from the stock one.
It is what sold me on the M-sport version.

Curious, how does the leather on the M Sport wheel feel in comparison to the original?

I have the non-M 'Sport' wheel with the paddles, and while I like it just fine, to me the leather on the wheel doesn't feel quite right. As if it may not be actual leather, even though it is stitched.

Good looking result either way!

Thank you! And I came from the non-m sport wheel as well and the main reason I changed was actually the leather. The wheel you have now -that I also had- is so incredibly stiff if you ask me and it's not comfortable at all to hold for longer periods.

It was like holding a rock dressed in leather.

This m-sport wheel is so much more comfortable and you almost sink in with your fingers and palm because it's much much more soft!

How much do those run with the airbag?

I paid about $500 for my used one. However I live in Sweden and according to some Reddit users based in the US the price there is around $1000 for a used one. But I found them for as low as $400 even with paddles so maybe if you're really lucky you can find something around that price!

Don't forget to apply leather protection on your new wheel, it will last much longer - I use Dodo Juice Supernatural Leather Ultra-high Performance Sealant, but you can use any you have at home 🙂

I also suggest to exchange the lower trim for M3 (look through). While it looks much better, it improves the steering balance and feel thanks to added weight.

Thank you! I didn't know you could change it for an M3 look! That's awesome! Definitely gonna look into that, thank you
