Gen1 stock turbo B58 1/4 mile record

I know not everyone is on all the social media platforms, so I’ll post it here too.

Gen1 stock turbo B58 1/4 mile record has been reset.

I knew back in March/2023 when I ran back to back 10.8@130 in (-300ft DA) with a lazy 1.7’ 60’ on a virgin street with zero prep, I could get a 10.4 as long as I could get the 60’ down to 1.55-1.60. I didn’t think I’d get a 1.48 on a small 275/40, but I’m not complaining. Unfortunately the some of the timing equipment was missing to get the full 1/4 mile slips from the racetrack, but the dragy was consistently slower in time to the 1/8 mile. I’ll show that in my YouTube video when I post it.

As the vast majority go the route of AWD for obvious reasons, I took the road less traveled and went RWD. Some will call the drag radial a “slick”, it’s a “tin can”, or they may hate for a different reason of their choosing. The best part is, this is something that ANYONE can replicate. There’s no special tricks and no magic tuning. There’s no gate keeping here, I’ve always been very transparent about my mods, as all are listed in my YouTube videos. There’s a few items I won’t give out exact specs on, but I do list them.

F30 340i (RWD)
Stock turbo
BM3 OTS E50 (E75 in tank)
BM3 flex fuel sensor
xHP OTS stage 3 (drag mode on)
Fuel-it Stage 2 HPFP
RK Tunes Front mount intake
MRM 4.5" D/P
Turndown
DSP driveshaft
BMW M Performance LSD
Lithium Battery
Full 17" drag pack (skinnies upfront & 275/40 M/T ET Street R's on the rear)
All passenger seats out

No carbon panels, no other plastics or interior trim pieces were removed, no lexan, no drag brakes, no aluminum or carbon driver seat. All this along with some better air (negative DA) would shave a couple of tenths off. I see no reason why a 9.9-10.0 can't be had with a max effort build in excellent weather conditions and a custom tune to squeeze every last bit of power out of it.

If it isn't listed, it's either still on the car or it is stock.

Below is the 1/4 mile video.

that's because I decided to take my chances with RWD and kept the weight out. AWD setups become baby belugas

As you've seen, even the mph for my 435i is one of the highest as well. The bm3 stage 2+ recipe works. I just need a good 60' and I may take that record too.

Oh I know.. I know.. whats funny is some locals guys keep telling me it's only a slight difference from awd to rwd in mph.. and here I am saying it's over 4 mph in the 1/4mile if it's running decent etc.. its huge from a roll..

I can't wait to see what's next!

Technically the awd weight penalty is about 100-120lbs, but then you could add the additional 50lbs of rotational weight that the skinnies would potentially drop over a set of stock 400m wheels and non runflat tires.

Take solace in the fact that in 95% of street scenarios, AWD will be the winner. I still like my RWD for the fun though...

Sure.. from a dig. Though once you get to a certain power level the fast guys won't ever do digs so it's all from a roll.

The more I've done the youtube thing the more I've realized how it all works lol. I'd rather have a rwd and a good tire for rolls at this point.
