I would say, comparing an E90 model 2009 or after would be better, because the facelift changed the look of the car.
IMO when you look at the bodies: E90 = F30, you cannot see major differences, the F30 is just a facelift! And this would be a great news for E90 owners, because their car doesn't look dated even more unique style! because headlights and tail-lights of F30 is a copy of F10 (new 5-series).

From a casual scroll through looks like people are split down the middle on the subjective call of which looks better. Interesting.
Would be nice to see a comparison with sport suspension to sport suspension, but I think those that have dismissed the thread as "lame" because it's a 325 with after market suspension have overstated the case. Still very cool to see them together even if it's not quite a 1:1 comparison. This has reminded me how awesome looking the 162s are. I love the concavity, and I think the chunky look goes with the E90 really well. Too bad it's getting hard to find a set that doesn't have more rash than an infants ass or 3 mismatched and balding tires that the seller won't part out. Thanks for the post OP! |

its quite interesting how modern the E90 still looks. The design didn't get tired and I have to say that it is really a toss-up between which looks better.

Also makes a difference when comparing a 325i to a 335i.

The differences, although noticeable, are really subtle (with the exception of the front and rear facias). Saw one on I-5 in Southern California last weekend just over the Grapevine and followed it for about 10 miles. Had New Jersey plates, and was the Modern Line in Mojave Metallic paint with the 19" double spoke (401) wheels. Looked very nice on the road.

I think 75% of consumers wouldn't be able to tell the two apart as it was driving past them.
I don't intend to inject any positive or negative connotation into that comment, but I think it's true. To me the F30 looks like a "newer" car, but if you squint (or take off your glasses in my case), they look extremely similar |

Must say though - I'm not a big fan of the way the hood has been made - the line they have moved from following the kidneys to now being above the BMW logo is not that nice looking - same story for the F20

That extra length seems to be taken up by the additional nose over-hang. Personally, I like the looks of the E90 better with the front wheels pushed up more towards the nose...

To me the e90 to me has the more sporty look. First of all it is smaller and looks more tightly packaged. I love the wheels and side mirrors better (looks more sporty) and most importanlty the e90 has more of that bulldog-ish squat look that I love so much. The f30 is not bad looking but it has gotten longer, wider, taller, has a chrome nose and tear ducts on its face. The dual exhaust tips on the back look too small further reducing the little sports quotient it has. All of this make it look to me as a car that is leaning more towards "luxury sedan" than "sports sedan".

Thanks for the comparison! The nose of the F30 doesn't look too aerodynamic to me, what do you guys think?

Because there wasn't a local member with LCI E90 available when I was in town.
