Extinction Rebellion mob

Are back again. I am in one of the buildings they want to disrupt but no sign so far.
I suppose they are still parking the range rover at the local station and swinging by waitrose before coming to "protest".

Police have already re opened one of the bridges so just need to park water cannon at each end now....

While I agree it's good to highlight climate change the method they use just really pi55es me off, wastes millions of pounds and diverts thousands of police.

Yep, with 4 hotels at two of the key locations they plan to disrupt, it makes security of our property and safety of our guests more of a challenge than it should be (and that isnt to cast any aspersions on anyone attending the protest, but crowds give cover and distract from the day job... so the local crims will be having a field day...)

And of course the protests cause massive tailbacks which cause more emissions and global warming)... although I did get a great photo of the (then about to launch) Hard Rock Hotel London from the middle of Park Lane which might have been challenging to get without them!

They were cooking Vegan stew on Lambeth bridge not long ago. Squirrel and Rainbow chained them selfs to a old ford focus...Its an EMERGENCY...apparently..?
I am not sure how stopping all the traffic helps emissions????

Interestingly there are senior British officers in the HKPD.

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/h...bill-frg8b3hg3

O/T but I think the HK protests have gone too far now they really are violent won't be long before a police officer is killed and then I think China will unleash the PLA.

I accept that climate change is an issue and that raising it before apathetic governments is a good thing. However, I am aware that school kids are protesting and that many of these same kids insist on being driven to school, always want the latest tech, clothes and gizmos while throwing the old stuff away. Double standard?

But hasnít the UK Government passed legislation to position the country amongst the world leaders in driving towards carbon neutral? I get the protesters want it quicker (2025) but theyíre preaching to the converted.

I believe Britain and Denmark are the world leaders in tackling climate change, this extinction rebellion mob are going to have the opposite effect on popular opinion if they carry on down this path.

Walked through the Westminster protest twice today.. all seemed good natured.

It's the crowd outside Smithfield meat market telling everyone they must become vegan which gets me.

Fuck Vegan, .. if our ancestors hadnít eaten meat Around 2.5 million years ago our brains wouldnít have grown as big and we would all still be primitive.

Eating meat and cooking food made us human, the studies suggest, enabling the brains of our prehuman ancestors to grow dramatically over a period of a few million years.

Although this isn't the first such assertion from archaeologists and evolutionary biologists, the new studies demonstrate, respectively, that it would have been biologically implausible for humans to evolve such a large brain on a raw, vegan diet and that meat-eating was a crucial element of human evolution at least 1 million years before the dawn of humankind.

Suck it up Vegans!

There are calls for Greta to get a Nobel Peace prize for ranting like a child (which she actually is) at the UN.

We're going to hell in a handcart and everyone has run out of ideas, the future apparently is in the hands of a 16 year old.

That was taken from a Bloomberg article based on a study by imperial college they had looked at what has been done taking into consideration power generation etc....Germany as an example with their powerful green party still get the majority of their power from coal believe it or not.

In terms of power generation, yes we are well placed (which is of course hugely important). However, I'm not aware of any other significant policy that is seriously aimed at reducing pollution. If you look at electric cars, for example, there is no national strategy for improving charging network, leaving it up to local authorities to do what they want.

I have a couple of scientist friends who frankly despair at the governments actual approach to the environment, rather than the rhetoric.

I do agree though, that it is difficult to get motivated when you see what the largest polluting countries are, or are not doing.
