Trust me, the second it's released, you'll see it here. A lot of us eagerly waiting for this...
Wish they hadn't teased dates without being 100% confident. Should have just said early 2019 and then surprised us with an early release. |

Well, here's the message I was expecting:
"We have to make a bit of a sad announcement today! :-( That decision didn't come easy, but to make it short: We have to postpone the release of xHP for 8HP to Jan. 20th! Why is that? There are 3 reasons for it: 1. The xHP App grew quite fast and many features were stacked on it over time, that weren't planned at the early days. Therefore the performance of xHP is not always right there were we want it. This has nothing to do with the calibrations, this is just how the app runs on various devices and behaves when unexptected things occur. Therefore we put the whole xHP code into the dumpster an re-wrote it from scratch. This of course is a lot of work and doing this while fully operating daily business isn't an easy job. Good coders are also rare and our team does not have the size it should have right now. 2. iOS. As some people might already know, xHP will be available for iOS in Q2/2019. So even if this isn't related in any way to flashing an 8-Speed Auto Trans, the code base we are doing right now has to take care of everything that is involved with future iOS tasks. That said, Apple does do things very different to Google in some respects. Let alone the case, that people eventually want to carry over their purchases from Android to Apple in the future. We can't guarantee it, but we try to implement something that can make that happen eventually. 3. Quality. This is the most important reason for postponing. Developing a product which not only works for itself, but gets connected to hundreds of different vehicles, with hundreds of different devices, a few different interfaces and a dozen of different Android versions needs testing, testing, testing. Given the fact, that we not only add support for 8HP but really re-wrote the whole App, we decided we need to test more. Not only the new stuff, but also re-test everything from the past. The bad thing with testing is: It needs time and a lot of it. All in all we want to be 100% certain, that this new release not only matches what xHP ever was, but exceeds it in terms of stability and user experience. We're now putting on the flame-suits and apologize to everyone waiting for their 8HP flash!" |

So, yeah it supposed to be Monday. Wondering who will be first to test. I'm pretty ready to give it a fly as I have seen people like this more than MHD...damn.
