Garage List
Frogman, next weekend along with some minor coding, can you verify for me the Plant Integration level of my car? It is accessed by 'performing a Key Read and selecting Vehicle Key Data, then Software Integration' (quote from PPK press release). My car is a July '13 South Africa build and I need this data to determine which Performance Power Kit to order. Thanks in advance, David

I won't be needing coding anymore. I bought the cable and software and did the coding myself already. I will bring my cable and laptop to help other coding.

That's the one that I want you or Tom to activate on mine. How exactly does it work and how is it reflected in iDrive?

There's an additional sport configuration show up in iDrive setting.
It will also show up when you change to sport mode. (Very similar to ECO-Pro setting)

Drivetrain: aggressive shifting points
Chassis: tighter steering

Originally when you change to sport mode, it will tighter steering and change shifting point, now you can choose only tighter steering by selecting Chassis.

Sweet! I want that. So this will effectively allow you to choose sport steering without the sport throttle mapping, thus allowing you to have the heavier steering, but achieve gas savings?? I just want to make sure I'm understanding what the "Chassis-Only" mode accomplishes. Do you have any photos of your iDrive screens? Do you know if this will allow for tighter steering in Comfort?

Yes, you can choose sport steering without the sport throttle mapping in sport mode. By choosing Chassis-Only, it is feeling like Comfort mode with tighter steering but it might also have some effect that I am not noticing.

I like to drive in "Chassis-Only sport mode" and whenever I want to sport throttle, I just change my gear to DS.

I don't have any photo right now, so I attach some image I found on google. They looks exactly the same.

Thanks for those photos. That is exactly what I needed to know. So since Sport can be configured, I assume that Sport+ retains the OEM chassis/drivetrain/limited DSC configuration specs right (..or does the configuration affect Sport+ as well)!??! I'm looking forward to having this coded on the 24th.

This alludes to lots of adjustment possibilities where the F8X M3 is concerned.

If you are talking about the cars factory and/or current I-step, sure that's available via e-Sys.

I'm the procedure from the PPK press release may be referencing using ISTA/P and that would be a different procedure, but may be the same value.

Do you have an example of what an Plant Integration Level value looks like?

Excellent! I definitely could use some help coding as it looks like at least 11 people want coding done.

If there is anyone else out there in SoCal that can attend and help with coding, it would be greatly appreciated!!

I've enabled this on mine also. I think it's standard if you have the DHP. If you don't have the option, we can enabled it.

It's meant to be able to control the adjustable damping on cars with DHP. My car does not have that, but enabling the mode does let you control what you indicated (throttle sensitivity/shift points), and Chassis (steering, and damping if you have DHP).

I'm familiar with the first three.

S1-S8 normally only shows up when you are manually shifting the 8AT. There's nothing to code to enable that.

Are you saying that you are enabling the S1-S8 without being in MS mode? If so, can you send me the the ECU / section / variable to enable this and I'll add this to my list! Thanks!

Originally it shows DS in DS mode and M1-M8 in MS mode.
After doing the coding it actually show S1-S8 in DS mode so you know which gear you are current on.
I believe this default if you have shift paddles option.

On my 2013, it already shows s1-s8 when I move the gear shifter to the left. Must've been a change on the 2013's

Do you have the shift paddles option? I have a 2013 F30 238i but it didn't show S1-S8 by default.
