Any 75w90 oil will be good. I have tried the Titan Fusch 75w90, OEM 75w90, and Redline mt-90. All have been good oils. My next will be to try the Lucas 75w90 as it is known to keep the temps lower and some guys I know that race cars on the track say average temps go down about 10 degrees or more...

My redline seems to have foamed a little after hard use... the other 2 not nearly as bad...

I used RL DT4 in my 6MT 228 at 70k miles and it shifted smooth as butter after that.

What's the difference between mt-90 and dt4?

DT4 is ATF. It was recommended to me by Chad Morehead from Morehead Speed Works. He's a major builder of Spec E46 cars for the racing series and local to me. That's what he uses in the race cars he builds. After I swapped it I immediately get the difference in shifting smoothness and it made the car fun to drive again. No more missed shifts or gating issues. I did the swap at around 60k miles.

Interesting! I may give it a try. Would it be ok to run for 80k miles or so?

Being that it's pretty cheap I would run it for 30k changes. Cheap insurance per se'.
