Just my twopenceworth. Had a 320d and that was fantastic with great economy. High 30s local, 50 to 60 plus on motorway. Recently switched to a 328i and I'm getting 25 round town and 40 plus on motorway. Remember though to factor in the extra cost of diesel, plus the worry about dmf/ dpf/ egr. Also factor in the congestion charges coming into play in all major cities and how this will impact on depreciation on diesels in the future. Perhaps the biggest reason I'm glad I switched is in the driving. For a basic 4 banger 2 litre it flies. The acceleration is smooth and linear with no turbo lag whatsoever in comparison to a diesel. Coupled with a 6 speed manual it is just the perfect car for me but if I was doing a lot more miles the diesel may have made more sense. Granted a 330d and 335d will be more powerful but I cant imagine in real world town driving they are going to leave a 328i for dead until you hit the twisties. Great decision to make though bet you'll be pleased with either.

Been there done that on other forums too! Somehow there's always a thread that appears recent because it's there to see, but never realise how old it is!
Some thread resurrections can be very useful in the present day however!
