Looking at the quality of the printing particularly the 'Admiral' part and the address, looks fake to me.
Why don't you want to call them? A five minute call will sort it all out and may make them aware that they are being used as a scam. And I don't mean on the number on the letter. Just looked at the website given for payment. Looks dodgy to me. But then I'm suspicious of any and everything! |

Is the number on the letter legit? I'd call admiral on the website quoted number and check if that number is legitimate.
Edit - quick Google very inconclusive, I'd be pushing for confirmation that nothing is owed in writing. |

Sounds like an admin error of some sort, the fact they tell you to go to the website to pay suggests its likely genuine. Scams tend to direct you to something close but not quite there, like www.admiral-pay.com or similar.
I had a similar thing with Lloyds when our home insurance renewed, the agent somehow renewed it before the previous one expired and it somehow caused me to owe the remainder of the previous policy but I only found out when I got a letter demanding £46 saying I had defaulted! Called them and they said I had already paid it via DD, which I had and the letter was automatic but could be ignored. |

Looks legit to me.
www.admiral.com/pay redirects to https://secure.admiral.com/securepayments/ The security certificate issued to that site is up to date and is registered to Admiral too so nothing dodgy about the payment site. As has been said, just give them a call.
