f30 hpfp check engine light
On my way to a car meet, I stopped at shell to fill up my tank (initially at half a tank) and as soon as I start the car it hesistates and cranks longer than usual. The car throws a check engine light and a drivetrain malfunction at me and stays at 1000 rpms. I start to drive normally and it shifts normally but the loss of power is there. the obd2 give me codes p0087 and p15df. in the morning the car didn't want to start at all until a few tries. Has this ever happened to anyone??

I would replace the pressure sensor on the fuel rail first. It's around $50 from FCP euro, then if that doesn't work I'd replace the pump.

I have it at home and I'm replacing mine next week when I'm off. I think it's a 25mm wrench to remove it. I forget the torque value but there's a youtube vid on it.

well I switched out the sensor and the car started up fine, no alternating between revs just a simple start. The check engine light and drivetrain malfuntion is still there along with the loss of power. Im guessing its the high pressure fuel pump? I also didn't torque it up i kinda just tightened it since I got impatient and couldn't find the 25 mm to attach to my torque wrench.

fixed
You guys were right it was the hpfp. I replaced it, turned on my engine and sure enough the drivetrain malfunction didn't pop up and the check engine light went away after driving a few miles. I appreciate everyone's help!
