Glad it worked for you!!! Now you can hear all the other wonderful rattles and groans the car makes. My old Toyota camera was more quiet!

I've also tried and used the loop side of Velcro. That works very well, if you don't have the felt.

You could also bend the pin rod slightly so it pushes against the collar and is not floating loosely.

My drivers door has this annoying rattle. Hold the pin and it goes away but for me it’s random and on some days no rattle. I tried removing the circular surround using a trim removal tool but the damned collar didn’t want to budge.

It's a bit nerve wrecking, but it does come out. I used a trim tool on the sides of the collar... put a microfiber rage below the tool just in case. Then pry on left a bit, then on right and should come up. It's keyed, so when putting back it only goes one way.

You can find it at Wal-Mart or craft stores. And like previous posts said, it takes a lot of pressure to pry out. Don't be scared lol.

It's just velcro, you can buy it almost anywhere, including amazon. I did this on my front passenger door right after I got the car. You really don't need very much. I didn't superglue it on either, just the adhesive on the velcro was good enough and I only put about a 1/4" strip on, just enough to keep the pin from rattling.

I had some leftover adhesive felt (fake alcantara feel) so I wrapped the trim piece. Got rid of the door lock pin rattle.

Just picked up a M3 with ZCP. I too have the door lock rattle on both passenger and driver side. I asked the dealer to fix, seem to work for a day or two, and came right back. I will try this before going back to the dealer which is 45 mins away. Thanks!

I had the same issue and used electrical tape and put them around the door pins and pushed the tape down into the lock pin housing so I didn’t have to remove the pin itself. It really helped tone the rattling down but the rattles didn’t go away completely.

He’s right. About a 1”x1” piece of electrical tape worked for me. Just make sure you don’t put to much so the stalk doesn’t get stuck.

Is there a way to remove the head of the lock pin itself? I found some replacements that push on and wanted to give them a try. They are a bigger in diameter so I know it will fix my problem.
