MG Flasher or BM3

I am debating between MG and BM3. I keep reading through the log thread and seems clean timing logs are hit or miss on BM3, specifically with stock emissions hardware in tact. Anyone have feedback on MG flasher logs either stage 1 or some version higher with factory downpipe in tact? I am having a hard time determining if MG flasher tunes are also seeing timing corrections. Just trying to maximize benefit of increased HP and retain reliability.

Thanks.

They have the same "issue." That's what will happen when you have one map designed for cars across different conditions, fuel qualities, etc. If you want a perfect log then you'll need a custom tune, but in general the timing corrections you see on OTS maps are safe.

In my opinion bm3, it got unparalled feautures and support (from PTF and the community) with reliable and strong OTS maps.

Its also offered with a money-back guarantee, try it and if you do not like it get something else

Thank you. I tried digging through that thread, but couldn't find any MG logs, especially at the lower stages.

Thank you, I am leaning toward bm3, but I'm not so sure about unparalleled, Seems like PTF is trying to catch up to MG with the on-the-fly features although I do believe bm3 is nice option for custom tuning (not locked into a single tuner) and license transfer should you move into another vehicle. Good news for me is that atm I am focused on suspension and then will move into power upgrades, so I have some time to evaluate. Ecutek seems to be getting pushed to support gen 1s as well

Also curious if running a 91 octane stg1 OTS map would help, even though I have 93 readily available. I am not after squeezing out every bit of the stock set-up.

it does help keep logs safer. It's the same as the stock tune that's designed for 91oct, but a lot of us run (ran) 93.

Yeah, that what I was thinking too, the same concept as stock tune where I run 93 anyway.

Two weeks ago I was faced with the same dilemma. I chose BM3 and I have no regrets. On Stage 2 modification for 91 (RON95) and 93 (RON98) fuels, the car is strong and gives even power, there are absolutely no problems.

+1 for BM3. Been on it since April and loving it since. Lots of tuners on the platform and is very user friendly. Also lots of big power record guys running it in the US & UK. And whenever you have a question protuning freaks customer service is top notch always get back to me in a timely Manner. Can’t speak for MG but bm3 is proven.
