Hi all!

Maybe an expert can help me. I've found a FSC generator which only needs an USB stick. Is this possible?

Here's the instruction from the downloaded ZIP file:

1. Unpack the ZIP file to the root of an empty USB stick
2. Power on your car and wait until the navigation system has started completely
3. Put the USB stick in the USB port in the glove box
4. Wait for 30 seconds
5. Remove the USB stick and put it in your (windows) computer
6. Check if the file 1b.hex is present on the USB stick (if not go to step 2 and try another USB stick)
7. edit fsc.bat and update the year code (when needed)
8. run the command file fsc.bat
9. a file "code.txt" is created which contains the FSC code for your car!
10. for next year updates, just update fsc.bat with new year code and run fsc.bat again.

I've tried it a few times with several USB sticks (FAT32) but there is no 1b file on the stick. Am I doing something wrong?

It's CIC. The actual map is Europe MOTION 2018-1

No, that is CIC-MID, not CIC, and that USB will not pull 1B on CIC-MID as it is designed for CIC.

OK, thank you very much! I wouldn't have thought that there's a difference between CiC and CiC-MID for this method via USB.

May I ask if I need a 1b file from CiC-MID or is there a differnt file(type)?

One is 609 Pro Nav and the other is 606 Business Nav, and they are very different. There is no version for CIC-MID.

I have a problem, I extracted the 1b file but it is wrong. Where the last 7 digits of my VIN should appear comes 1234567. I have tried to extract it again but it is no longer generated in the USB. I have tried several USB sticks and I do not get it.

I want to update it from the ROAD Map Europe PREMIUM 2012 maps to PREMIUM 2018-1.

Currently downloading:

ROAD MAP NORTH AMERICA PREMIUM 2018-1 - 4 USB_DVD

This is the correct map for my vehicle right? I have S609A Navigation system Professional.

Wrong Map. You have NBT Head Unit and you need ROAD MAP NORTH AMERICA NEXT 2018-1.

You could indicate me how I can extract it, I have tried several USB and it does not generate it automatically.

I have no idea what is deal with your 1B File. The USB Tool you use to pull it results in bad VIN. For E-Series, you can read 1B with SWID Reader and ICOM interface.

Downloading now. I was able to generate an FSC Code using the BMW_CIC_FSC_Generator app with the "By Date" feature for my VIN. I will see if the generated code will work in my car tonight.

So I downloaded the correct map for my car (VIN NR91273) so NEXT 2018-1 and generated a code for my car but I keep getting a message saying that the code I entered is incorrect. I followed all the steps properly but can't seem to generate a proper FSC. Can anyone help me out?

Sadly - CarPlay isn't even available in my country to be ordered from BMW.

FSC Generator is ONLY for maps, and ONLY older ones (Not ROUTE, EVO, nor WAY Maps), as old maps are FSC Short (20 Digital Alphanumeric Code). All other FSC Codes (e.g. New Maps, CarPlay,. etc.) are FSC Long, which are actual Signed Certificate files requiring BMW AG Signature's with Private Key.
