Sorry. Would be a cam cover gasket as its slow dripping on to exhaust manifold.

To quote within a quote within the quote? This sounds like...
Nevermind lol

Just give your dealer a call, did you have your 15,000 mile service already? If not then maybe its time they give it a look, every oil related problem in a turbocharged engine is a big problem sorry but its just not normal that the engine is leaking oil into the manifold, are there any oil marks or just the smell?

Yes. Ironically I had the service 1000 km before this issue. I opened the engine bay. On the left side of the engine there is a very small amount of oil. It has dripped on top of the manifold. There is no smell or blue smoke from exhaust. It's just very slight once the initial oil burns off. The Valve cover ledge has a small amount of oil. It just pi55es me off as its a bmw...well y'all know the rest of this story.

So the dealer has confirmed the leak yet? I would think more a valve cover gasket to leak way before the head starts leaking...I mean only time I've seen heads leak are on really really old bimmers and or if they overheated the crap out of the engine somehow.

Quite possibly when they did the oil service maybe spilled oil when filling and just now seeping down onto exhaust??? It's possible....cause if the head is blowing oil out I would think your low oil light would be on or oil psi warning...

I second this. in any case, call the guy who was responsible for the oil change and put a flame on his ass, he did something wrong.

Yep. I'll see what the service dept says at the other dealership. If it is in fact from the change ill be sparking that flame. However it was two weeks ago. Noticed it for the first time two days ago. It is very light but any drips on a hot manifold will smell.

I have monitored everything but there hasn't been enough to affect levels. If it is a slight leak and not from the change I would doubt very much it will give me a low pressure indication or the volume of oil.

No. The car is in the city now getting minor body work done (another effn story )

I'll post when I hear.

On the upside, I bought her a next to new set of staggered 400M wheels/tires and will use the meh luxury line wheels for the winter months.
