I recently came across a 2016 340i rwd track handling m sport, with the upgraded technology package, with 38k miles on it. (Clean title no accidents). The guy had oil changes with 0w-40 every 4K miles as well as a carbon cleaning done at 28k miles. He has a decat downpipe and a mhd it's tune as well as a intake. I was going to do all these mods myself so those are a plus. He had it listed at $32,000 USD. Is this fair or a terrible deal ?
Any responses are much appreciated Thankyou ! |

It's fair enough. Enter car details in Vroom (for ex) and see what retail is. Blue Book etc are good estimators too but the online sellers adjust prices daily so it's more real time.

Carbon cleaning at 28k miles...My antenna went up at that comment..Was thinking it might be needing taken care of closer to 100k if at all. Regular Italian tune ups along regular oil changes with decent quality oils, have always take care of my Carbon deposits.

I don't think an Italian tune-up will clean the carbon on the intake valves.

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. I got a 2019 440i xDrive Gran Coupe msport, track handling package, adaptive suspension, driver assistance package, cold weather package, and a few other packages with 37,000 miles on it for $42,000 back in November. Alpine white with coral red interior. So a hell of a spec for sure. Plus it still had a full year of bumper to bumper warranty and an additional year of CPO warranty.
Based on the research I did, for what I was buying, it was a good deal for sure. So to get a good spec 340i for $32,000 seems good to me. I know its not warrantied at all and it is modified (some people think thats good, some people will say that devalues it) but I still think thats a pretty good deal.
