Really dumb question... Coding off Auto Start

Hi all; I can't seem to find the directions on how to do it.
Basically, I want to code my car so that auto start is always off when starting the car. Also, when changing between driving modes, I want auto start to default to off. How do I do it? Warning, I am not very technically inclined.

Just click the button it then stays off for comfort mode and that's the default, when the light is orange on top of the button it means it's off and it stays that way unless you click it to where there's no light or your in eco mode

Car starts in comfort mode. If you turn it off then it will remember. If you switch to eco pro mode then it turns back on. Don’t use eco pro mode. It sucks.

Do you have binmercode? Esys? Etc? You can’t code without some software and connector. If you do, hit the fyi / coding subforum. Plenty of instructions there.

My 2018 is like that, but on earlier models it's not like that. You have to turn it off manually every time you start the car.

You need to code it on OP's 2012 F30

Oh, The Kurgan's car is a 2012? I think the next year or in '14 BMW offered the dealer coding so that the A.S.S. would remember the setting from the last time the car was on. My '15 remembers.

Not all cars have auto start stop set to "remember last mode" at startup. When I got mine, I have to press it off every time at startup until I coded it to stay off permanently.

If they don't have it already set to remember, it just means the car ilevel is on old software. It was part of an update.

You can code it to remember in all modes, and default the auto start stop to off in EcoPro as well.

To OP, you said it's your not technical person, so you need to hang out with one or pay someone or dealer to code it. But if courageous enough to try coding then its possible.

Thanks gents. I guess mine is not able to be programmed to remember last. I will just have to remember to manually turn it off, which is what I am doing now.

I had a 2012 F30 and A.S.S. always defaulted to on each time the car starts. Later years it would remember your last setting. It can be coded to remember the last setting which is what I did. I coded it myself, but the coding process is rather involved the first few times you do it (until you get comfortable with the flow). I would find someone in your area to do it for you.

On the G20 it is coded to be on at startup so it went back to being on rather than remember last setting.

Yes it can be coded. You may simply need a firmware update before coding. If done with a Windows PC it would be with the same programs.
