2016 Navigation Map updates?

Any idea if there are new Map updates for Australia?

If so, is there anywhere can we get these from? Or must this be purchased from BMW?

I managed to get the files and completed the install tonight. The update went smoothly and the instructions were really easy to follow.

I thought i remembered reading something about being able to generate FSC codes for mapping yourself? Is this still the case?

You can but you still need to "find" the updated map file to install first.

That's correct. If anybody needs the files, I'm happy to help. However you will need to find a way of generating your own FSC code, which I believe is unique and based on your VIN.

Glad i could help, but wowsers, you were up tinkering with this til 3.13am?! Did you run into some complications? The install should've been quite seamless.

Nah, the install took 10 mins, getting my fsc code took 2 hrs with some help from shawnsheridan and kitster.

Could not convert my fsc file to the correct format.

Once that was done by kitster and the lookup.xml provided by shawnsheridan I was able to generate the fsc code and then it was smooth sailing.

All up took 2hrs and multiple pm's.

Would have been easier to purchase it from Gerry but I like trying to do things myself.

When the 2017 maps come out it wont take me longer than 10 mins

slightly related but unrelated - should tmc still be working in Melbourne even if you don't have rtti? am not getting any joy, have S609A, S654A, S6ACA, S6AEA, S6NSA

I have no idea what FSC is? I believe my MAP is old version.

Wanting to update have been trying to look for updates forever, Never thought to look in the 3 Series section.

2 Series section is literally dead haha.
