Rear Ended to a Bin. Advice Please
15 mins ago i rear ended my car to a freaking bin, the damage was bigger than i thought,
first of all, i blame myself, but i also blame the last second warning of my parking sensor and the weak paintjob (note: this is a m-sport retrofit- not a factory job) and my girlfriend for putting the bin in the driveway as seen in the photos, the pain is cracking and the bumper has bent in 2 places my question is: can i fix this? through a body shop or do i have to get a new bumper? pics: thanks guys

Ouch..
I have an F31 and my initial comments would be that I still think the car is a pain to backup. The camera on mine gives a very false sense of distance and the sensors seem to be strange. I had a 1er before this, and you could manuvere the car blind just using sensors they were very accurate and easy to understand . Maybe it's me just not getting on with the 3series... On the pint , I guess as its white you could easily repair the crack, and I presume the trim will snap back, but the crease maybe an issue. I don't know how well these bumpers reform, but they are often fixed with heat. |

Ouch, I can empathise with you on this one.
If you want it fixed properly - my advice is to suck up the excess, unless it's greater than the repair cost, and claim it on your insurance, that's what it's there for in the first place. |

Can't hurt to ask the paint shops... they'll probably bog it up and paint over it as long as it's not bent too much out of shape (i.e. can still be forced back into the clip fittings)

the diffuser just wont click back to place as well, leading me to think that the bumper is more deformed than it looks?
im hesitant to fix it with insurance (doesnt the excess get more and more expensive the more you claim?). but i think thats the only way to go for this case, the bumper alone is somewhere around the $900 mark, and painting and fitting will be another 4/500 easy.. anyone know how much my insurance costs will go up if I claim?

Sorry to hear about your car. I've used this franchise in Sydney and have had excellent results. Perhaps you could get a quote? Good luck.
