How much of a benefit is there really going from JB+ to JB4? Running the same amount of boost or close to it... Not much else the JB4 can do to add power. I'd suspect the difference is minimal. I'm sure it's there, but minimal. And then, not that this is something you don't know but for the sake of the thread, the FMIC is better for consistent power rather then straight up adding power.

Like I said, I'd recommend BM3, catless DP and FMIC.

I haveeeevee a catlessssss downpippeeee already

Catless DP if legal should be added.

Jb4 has very important features which are not available on the JB+

For example the boost by gear (most important one in my opinion) and boost by RPM
Let's say theoretically a vehicle not for street use had catless DP already with JB+..

What differences exactly would you expect to see in terms of performance by switching to JB4?

I've been scouring the forums for a concrete answer and haven't really been able to find one outside of what other features the JB4 comes with. Would there be a noticeable performance difference as well?

Hahaha my bad. Then you're good. Get an intercooler and BM3 to go to stage 2 and you'll notice a significant increase in power over your current setup. I also went from a JB+ like tuner (Dinan sport) to BM3 and the difference was huge.

Here's your concrete answer: no/negligible increase in power going from JB+ to JB4, other things equal. The JB4 is a much more capable and featured tuner than JB+ like Mike pointed out, but that's all you're really paying for, the features.

Thank you! That question has been driving me insane.

Jb4 will add a slight increase over the JB+ in terms of power

First thing you will notice when you tune your car is loss of traction, the JB4 lets you limit boost on lower gears which makes a big difference in real life

Ah I see.. so it can basically smooth out the acceleration curve and give you more grip on the low end.

I actually surprisingly haven't seen my traction control light turn on even once since I got the car in August, and I've been running the JB+ since I hit 2k miles.

I guess I'll have to see if that changes once that downpipe is shipped out and installed

Interesting you've never seen the TC light up. Mine will come on if I drop the hammer on my car rather than roll into the gas a bit 'leisurely'. I hate that feel of it activating.......

Where are all the dyno reports (rjdnyy224) for your car? .

We need a sticky maybe with the dyno reports from various tunes/mods just to have a sample..(obviously, temp, altitude etc will always vary along with tech)..but it'd be nice to have a sample...

They don't exist, which is why whenever I talk about N20 dyno numbers I always stress that it's an estimation. I would like to get my car dyno'd sometime soon, but to my knowledge there are no Stage 2 N20 dynos, at least not on here. There is however a huge dyno day going on in CA soon organized by N26Ghost so that should provide us with some numbers. I don't know who all is going, but I'm sure there will be N20's in various states of modification getting on the rollers.

Gotcha. yeah, waiting on the N26Ghost dyno day results...should be fun. I have a sheet for my car but other than the net numbers, the graph is junk since the dyno sensor connectors that hook to the car had splices etc that kept interupting the signals sent. I'm still surprised that my torque numbers are higher than most that post here with more mods, even in triple digit heat when I had the runs. My car only has the DME flash-nothing else has been touched...(stock CP, intake, DP, OEM air filter, etc.). I match the 250whp others post but my tq is 317. I can't imagine wanting anything more than a mild tune lol. Initially I wanted 260-270whp but went conservative and kept this flash version to keep the car intact lol.

Those are great numbers for a totally stock car save for the tune obviously. I'll try to contribute to the ongoing dyno numbers hunt this summer. For $100 or less if I can get people to come with me and the dyno being 40 minutes from my house, I have no excuse not to!

Yeah..they were as high as 324tq but we dialed it back after and settled on the 317. 10 dyno runs with a tweaked tune in between. Was pretty cool...although the car was totally heat soaked.

I spoke too soon

Ironically, it was raining pretty hard the day after I posted that and I gave it some gas at the apex of a freeway junction and finally felt it turn on.

I agree it's strange that it's only happened once considering I drive the car pretty hard and almost always in Sport+.

After dp, intercooder, and tune. The only real way to make power is turbo kit and ethanol/WMI. Jb4 over jb+ will help with running a aftermarket turbo. But you will need better fueling so flex-it or run Meth. IDK if dinan fuel pump would help as no one I never heard of anyone getting it.
