In the process of trying to build a short list of Magsafe mounts for my 2017 F36 440i GC.

Requirements:
- Not a vent mount (too visible)
- Either provides charging ability or accommodates Apple Magsafe puck
- Open to cup holder style base

Appreciate feedback and pictures of course.

Ive used this one in both my F30s. There is a perfect spot for the adhesive base, IMHO.

The Rennline mount works well and you can mount a charger on the "ball" of the mount instead of using the non-charging magnetic mount. This is what I use with a car wireless charger and it works very well. I run a USB cable through the dash and down to the passenger footwell 12 volt for power. The cable remains hidden for a clean install. The footwell picture that is attached is old, I now have a small USB 12 volt adapter that you can't even see unless you bend down and look (was using the 12 volt adapter for my radar but now I have that hard wired).

Afraid it may not fit Rennline phone mount. Still searching.

If you need the size of the ball joint on the Rennline mount, it's 1.5 cm wide I just measured it.

I wanted to thank leew102 and others for great suggestions.

The final outcome:

1. Rennline Exact Fit Mount for F30: https://www.rennline.com/BMW-ExactFi...nfo/PM01%2E19/

2. The metal backing plate was attached to the inside of Apple OEM Magsafe case below the magnetic ring

3. The Rennline magnetic attachment seems to generate a better magnetic attraction than Apple OEM Magsafe charger puck. I also purchased ball attachment for Apple Magsafe charger but the combination of white charger puck and cable made the installation look not as inconspicuous as I had wanted. So back to the included Rennline attachment

The Rennline MagSafe charger is on sale at ECS Tuning right now. Mine will arrive on Wednesday so I'll let you know how it is. I've heard the magnet isn't particularly strong but until I try for myself I can't say.
