Doing your own maintenance and BMW warranty
Has anyone who has done their own maintenance work had to claim BMW warranty?
Did you have any issues? I know by law they cannot require you to have your maintenance done at a dealership just to keep your warranty. But this is one of those vague/gray areas where even though the law says one thing...in reality there could be a lot of potential hassle involved. I looked over the warranty and service guide and it doesn't specify their policy. If I do my own maintenance can I just keep the receipts of the parts/fluids as proof of maintenance? thanks

I do all my own maintenance. I had a 2011 Z4 which blew a turbocharger. They knew I was using Redline oil and they didn't care. I think keeping a log of your maintenance is a good idea, but you should be OK.

Yah, I think in general it shouldn't be a problem....but when it's a problem it's usually a big one
