New Tyres

I'll soon need two new rear tyres and will be going for MP4S again.

Blackcircles has had OK prices in the past but it's always good to shop around.

Where are you seeing good deals at the mo ? Unfortunately I don't have a Costco membership.

Thx.

Have you tried Camskill? I got my winters from them as they were £50 a tyre cheaper than Black Circles.

Thanks - I'll have a look at Costco pricing (there were some decent deals a couple of months ago but it was slightly too early for me) and will DM you if they look interesting.

A great folks here is good:-

https://www.oponeo.co.uk/registratio...rnative-search

Other option I thought of is can you use Tesco Clubcard points anywhere of use. We always semi to rack these up from using their card and the odd shopping run. I genuinely don't know but worth a look.

Same for Quidco. Again is you can see anyone offering 1,2,5% back it will all help.

I'm due about £1k of tyres soon on a full RFT 21 replacement. Cannot wait

Tyreleader were cheapest for me when I last bought. MP4S currently 150ish a corner, not sure if that's a good price.

Didn't you ever hang outside a liquor store when you were underage? Only this time you're hanging outside a Costco looking for a nice old person to whisper to them...

"Psst, can you buy me some tires?"

I went in person to my local indy tyre fitter and the price was just slightly more than the Costco offer price at the time - easily justified in not having to make a 50 mile round trip to Costco, and it's good to support a local business.... I bought 4 Pilot sport 4's.

MyTyres on eBay have 15% off at the minute. Not sure how their prices compare for what you're after but when I used the code last time to get tyres for my OH's car it was so cheap they must have lost money on it!

I had a Goodyear Eagle F1 get a bulge in the sidewall 4mths old & no pothole hits (it's now gone off to GoodYear for investigation) again went to Rybrook who matched and then beat the price on Blackcircles. Can't fault them for the service plus if they damage the wheel you are in the dealers so can sort a replacement at their cost.

Are people recommending the Michelin Pilot 4 or 4s nowadays? I see some say the 4 is better than the 4s for the UK's shitty roads? Ta

Have a look at this video and then make up your mind - depends what you use the car for.

I used to us Welland Tyres when I lived in Stamford, though not sure he's still in business.

I went for the 4 over the ‘S’ version after looking at the Tyre Reviews video comparison and looking at other reviews of the 4.
I considered slightly more comfort was a trade I was willing to make.

I have the MPS4S. They make the stock runflats seem like old wooden wagon wheels. They handle the rough potholes of Philadelphia better than I could have imagined.

MPS4S are by far the best handling tire that I've ever driven in both dry and wet.

I highly recommend taking the opportunity to upgrade tire size. I went from stock 225/45-18 to 245/40-18 which is the best handling size. If I wanted handling with maximum comfort, I could have chosen 245/45-18. The slightly higher sidewalls also fill up some fender gap making the car appear slightly lower even if it isn't.

Hope this helps!

way i understand it pilot sport 4 is mainly for European market especially for for wet and cold UK
track use and perhaps for rest of the world which isn't cold and wet always pilot sport 4S
wet grip and performance below 7 degrees compared to the pirelli p zero runflat the pilot sport 4 is astoundingly competent ie no tailspin even when rainy and temperatures is sub 5 degrees at a 90 degree turn when i power out of it.

I always thought the MPS4S is a ULTRA high performance tyre which is a replacement for the Pilot Super Sport.

Whereas the MPS4 is just a high performance tyre.

They fit the MPS4S to the likes of the F90 M5 and AMG E63 (ie they dont fit the MPS4!)

This is a good watch where he tests the Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, Continental SportContact 6 and a few cheap tyres.

The Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport gets very good results and beats the MPS4S in quite a few tests. Certainly a good alternative to the Michelin it would appear.

The advantage of the Goodyear is you can also get it as an 18” which you can’t for the P4S
