I don't care about your explanation. Point is your making judgement calls and looking down on performance based decisions(if you are such an engineering guru, you would know there is appeal to the 100+ lbs on the nose that the 4 saves over the 6 when it comes to handling). There are others who would look down on you the same on your decision to have a sports car with an automatic. They don't you or your reasons, you don't know theirs. You can share experiences without having a huge chip on your shoulder. I have plenty of experience too without coming across as that much of a douche. Your posts in this thread read at times as a 15 year old and then minutes later a grandpa. Suck it? Seriously?
You're an idiot. We all make judgement calls, and clearly you are making yours. Go away, child.

I am in my 30's and your 15 years younger than my dad. So keep talking tough on the Internet when claiming to be a worldly old man. Go nurse your bad knees and stick to pining for the good old days.

If the posted speed limit is 40mph - then it probably is a 110 mph turn.

The original poster probably should have stated something to the affect as, if you want to really power through turns and max speed on every straight for some banzai enthusiastic fun the six is a whole different world then the four.

Yeah, I guess I am pretty fortunate to have owned, much less driven, so many great cars in my life, starting with a 57 Chevy and a 64 GTO in high school. I built competitive Porsche racing engines for an SCCA C Production national champion to help earn my engineering degree while in college. I met Jackie Stewart and Francois Cevert in the paddock the day Cevert was killed at the Watkins Glen GP. So yeah...maybe I earned the right to be a snob. Suck it.
For someone who could use that "knowledge" to assist others, you sure act childish by being so condescending. Also, I am not an enthusiast, so the name dropping means absolutely nothing to me (not that it would if I was). Name droppers are generally the least qualified whether in cars, careers or life.
Grow up, punk. Go away, please!
You are saying that I need to grow up? You are 62 years old telling people to "suck it." I feel so sympathetic for you.

I agree. These vicious attacks on my credibility are totally unwarranted but I am not one to back down. I asked these guys to drop the matter as one of opinion but they refuse.

May be feeding the troll with this one but I'll assume charitably that everyone has good intentions -- what the hell, it's Christmastime. On that assumption: how about everyone just agrees to disagree and we get back to discussing cars -- in other threads without the baggage that this one has accumulated! Have a nice evening. And P.S. if you happen to drive a 435i, please share your thoughts in comparison to the 135.

I have no idea what you just said. It's like reading gibberish. Go take your subjective objectivity and your poor argumentative skills and start your own blog. This is not a blog, but a forum for true BMW enthusiasts.

Clearly you missed the "Is the manual the enthusiast's choice" thread of stick-snobbery.

They are warranted because you are spewing utter retardation, after a blotchy review.

Now that you have been called out on everything you've said, Ill also mention that Ive sat in my own back seat...behind the drivers seat(in my memory position). My head barely grazes the ceiling...maybe you have a really big butt?

In either case the 135 is an awesome car...but the f30/32 are simply a cut above, as Im sure the 2 will be.

Better handling dynamics than 2013 328i.
I love the lines.
The Nav is the best around.
The 4 banger is probably adequate for many...but not enthusiasts.
The 8 spd Auto is overkill. Too many gears and shifts. Almost a manual CVT.
Though rear seat legroom is better, the headroom is less than in my 135i. My head was flush against the roof, & I'm only 5'9".

Bottom line:
A sweet ride for 20-30 something singles. I'm keeping my 135i.

As others have posted, this was not an informative report, its simply you justifying your current ride by going to another forum and bashing their ride. Sure, you throw in some positives thinking that it will mask your true intent. But the key points are: The 4 banger is not adequate if you are an enthusiast. That's just plain silly. You comment that the 8 speed auto is overkill with too many gears and shifts. Too many shifts? Is that like Mozart having too many notes? (look it up). And what kind of comment is that the 428 is a sweet ride of your 20-30 something and single. It's not a sweet ride for married people or people in their 40's and beyond? Your opinion should dictate for whom the 428i is considered sweet. Really?

The 4 banger you say is not for enthusiasts has been highly praised. My previous car was a 540i with a 4.4L V8. The N20 is simply amazing. I thought I would miss the V8 and I don't at all. The N20 is that good. Paired with the amazing 8AT makes a combination that is perfect for me, a car enthusiast.

Your subsequent responses and posts on this thread add up to the most condescending, immature set of postings I can recall in over 15 years on BMW forums. No need to respond. You've said it all and then some. Congratulations, you are the winner!

BTW, continue to enjoy your 135. It is a great car. Not enough gears tho (kidding) http://www.f30post.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif

Well said! Not siding with beggeboy but those 8 gear trannys drive me nuts.....ALWAYS shifting.....smooth but always shifting. Its too bad this dude went wacko because 135 is a nice car.

I stand by every opinion I shared. In fact, here's another one I should have said: " From inside the cockpit, the 4-banger makes a familiar sound...like a 60's VW microbes." Dolt.

I find it amazing how many of you people think I'm a snob and condescending because I own a 2010 135i and they own something substantially more expensive. Furthermore, you guys are like girls, concocting reasons why my evaluation was insincere and contrived, intended to make me look like I know more about anything than they know. You're all obviously insecure about your purchase of the 4-banger, or else you just drink BMW KoolAid. Either way, I stand by my opinion. As delivered, the 4-banger lacks charisma. Apparently it's owners do, too
