I had been searching pretty extensively for a new set of wheels for the F34. Really wanted to stay OEM due to build quality, but most OEMs are not light at all. Same thing with OEM reps. Also my car being xDrive makes tire size selections limited... so couldn't really go with M2/M3/M4 take-offs.

Thankfully the aftermarket scene for BMW is huge. After scouring through vendor sites, eBay, Amazon, Google Shopping etc., finally landed on these.

Aodhan AFF7 19x8.5/9.5

They seem to be a fairly new brand and use a tech called SPF (single phase forging) on couple of their wheel designs, including the AFF7s. Most likely this is similar to 'rotary forged' or 'flow forged' wheels. The weights listed for the 19s are ~20.5 lbs each! I was skeptical about this and put these on the scale as soon as I got them, and sure enough that's accurate. I also weighed them with my new tires mounted (see pics), and look like they will be way lighter than my 400m + RFT combo. The centerbore size is the same as BMW's, so no hubcentric rings are needed. Really looking forward to putting these on after the car is back from the shop and shedding some unsprung weight.

The centercaps are 60mm, so not OEM size. I've ordered these metal stickers from Portugal of all places... so they may take a while to show up, given the poor state of USPS.

Put these on yesterday... fitment is nice! The fronts wheels are almost flush with the fenders... but because of the 225s on them being slightly stretched, they don't quite look like it. I bet with some 245s, they would be, but then it may get too close to the struts under 'full lock'. The rears are pretty aggressive... prefect IMO! And again the 255s are a little stretched on 9.5s, which helps with no rubbing on the fenders lips whatsoever (on stock xDrive suspension). There's also a bit of a difference in the amount of concave between the 8.5" and 9.5" sizes of these wheels. This is by design and you can notice the spokes of the rear wheels having more of an inward angle than the fronts. Both clear the 335i grey Brembos just fine.

I've driven for about 50 miles or so both highway and city streets... mixture of dips, pot holes, surface irregularities, expansion joints etc. and at 34 psi all around, it feels firm but confident. I've had Vredesteins before and they are one of the best UHP All Seasons you can get... check out their 9.5/10 ratings on Tirerack. Car definitely feels 'lighter on it's feet' during acceleration, turn-in and braking... but I need more time behind the wheels to fully experience it. The stock 18" 400M & RFT combo were 54.5 lbs each... so total amount of unsprung weight shed was 36 lbs... and this is going from 18s to 19s! I did get them "Road Force" balanced... no vibrations or shakiness all the way up to 80mph so far. Lastly the TPMS reset is getting hung at 49%... probably due to the aftermarket TPMS that I put in

Please give us another update once you've gotten a chance to break them in. I'll probably see a similar improvement from 54lbs --> 46lbs. If you haven't run into any issues I might have to cop these myself

Thank you! I will definitely do a 'long term' review on these. However if anyone is ready to pull the trigger now... you can do what I did for some additional savings. Create an account on Aodhan's website, add your preferred set of wheels to the cart, but do NOT check out. Torquey Wow that's actually huge... considering they're originally 1050. I was able to find a set on FI for 950 https://www.fitmentindustries.com/bu...rify%20fitment. but 840 for a set of lightweight 19s is insane.

How's the quality of the finish? I wasn't able to tell if it was painted or powdercoated. Almost worried it's too good to be true

Yeah, I was going to buy from FI or eBay as well... price for the set was $950 at both places but with TX sales tax added. Then Aodhan sent me the coupon and apparently they don't charge tax outside of CA! BTW I found that email and looks like it's a generic code (Save20) that still works! Feel free to try it out.

The finish seems to be paint and not powder coat. They offer 1-year structural warranty for some peace of mind. My biggest goal was to achieve 'lightness' in 19" within particular offset range, then came design, color etc. ... all in all for this price I doubt if I could've done better.

He's running 8.5 in the front... he could go 255/35/19 in the front and 285/30/19 in the rear I think... I'm looking for 18 x 8.5" x 30 offset... I want to run 255/40/18 square.... I have 255/40/18 in the back now which are the staggered stock...

I just checked tirerack and I see 225/50r18 as stock for a gran turismo vs 225/45r18 stock on my f30. Doesn't look like Aodhan has 18x8.5 in et30, only et35. But can always throw on a 5mm spacer.

Yes, the F34 Gran Turismo is a bigger and taller car... so the recommended tire profile is +1 compared to F30/32/36. On top of that being xDrive makes you stay within 1% variance in diameter between front and back. I'd love to put 275/35s in the back, but then the front will have to come within 1% of that diameter, which could be tricky.

So I kept the tire sizes the same as 19s that came stock in some GTs. For a daily driver that is more than enough, plus the tire tread width being a little narrower than the wheel width is supposed to improve steering response.

What did you do for tires? In the past I preferred ordering wheels when I could order as a wheel and tire package. That way it all shows up mounted and balances and I can mount on my own at home.

Looks like these replaced the cast version (LS007) that I was looking at earlier this year. I probably would have went with the AFF7 if available, but I'll stick with my 437M take offs at this point.

I got the tires from Tirerack as I've always preferred their service (brand/size selection, fast free shipping & 2-yr road hazard incl.). I was looking at wheels there too as a package.. but couldn't find any that met all my criterias. So the wheels, tires and TPMS came from three different places. Somehow I managed to fit them all in my E60 and take it to Firestone (rare 'fold down' rear seat option FTW). Later I put them on the F34 myself and hand torqued the lugs.

Looks great, I got a set of these off Ebay back in November b/c Im cheap and the price was right!
I cracked one during COVID going to see my parents but there was a drain cover in the middle of the road and I didnt see it. You def have more sidewall on yours so I think youll be fine. Heres the silver for anyone else toying with the idea

I've also got 19" for my F32 from eBay for cheap.
