I own a BMW F31 330D Luxury Line.

My armrest was kinda worn out and I purchased a ‘Leather Restoration Kit’ which made it even worse. I decided to purchase a new one. I purchased it and a few months ago and had the time to install it just recently.

I realized that the new one I purchased is not retractable/expandable (the car I have is equipped with 04AE Armrest front, retractable) and when I open it up, it doesn’t fully open. If I push a bit, it then gets stuck and I have to disassemble everything to get it fixed.

Is there a way that I can use just the cover of the new one and put it on the old one? I looked up YouTube and I couldn’t find anything. I don’t mind breaking the old one, but I don’t want to break the new one and end up having 2 broken armrests.

I would appreciate any suggestions to that!
