I just coded this. A clarification for everyone who is considering it.
I was quite disappointed. My expectation was that it delays the disappearance of the welcome screen, i.e. prolonging its visualisation.
What it actually does is delaying the appearance, whereas it still disappears just after a second or so!
So when you open the door, the instrument cluster is dark. It goes on a few seconds after that, flashes the welcome logo quickly and loads the instruments....

I left it like this to see how I perceive it, but I am not sure I like it.... gives me a Windows 95 slow PC start feeling... as if the cluster needs half a minute just to power on.

Yeah, when I did mine, it was disappointing. I doubt theres an option but i'll have to dig a little deeper in fdl within kombi.

The most things will work immediately but some problems or missing features/settings you will notice later.

KOMBI_CIC should be kombi_high for 6WB (left) and kombi_mid for 6WA (right).
Are the others ok?
I have just retrofitted 6WB, looks like everything ok, but as you said, some missing features I might notice later.

Hello chr,

i just checked the values and it's a bit confusing.
With my old Evo ID4 + 6WB is the value Kombi_CIC = Kombi_mid.
For my new Evo ID6 + 6WB is the value Kombi_CIC = Kombi_high.
If everything works you can leave it that way.
If you want to test some things or you have problems you can try to change this value.
But I'm honest, I don't know exactly what this value really does.

My car is from 07 2014 with HU_ENTRYNAV and BKOMBI.
Retrofitting 6WA was simple: VO code 6WA, code HU_ENTRYNAV, read ECU, now KOMBI appears instead of BKOMBI, inject CAFD, code KOMBI and that's it.
Retrofitting 6WB is more complex.
- VO code 6WB, code HU_ENTRYNAV, read ECU, now BKOMBI disappears and nothing in place.
- FDL code Kombi_CIC = high, EXTERNER_MOST = aktiv and EXTERNE_MOST_DIAG = aktiv, read ECU, now DKOMBI appears, inject CAFD, code DKOMBI.
Now it works, but it does not have full functionality.
I also FDL code
DKOMBI: NAVI_NBT_ENABLE = kein_nbt; Kompass_Graph_Enable = aktiv
HU_ENTRYNAV: SETTINGS_INFO_DISPLAY = aktiv

Now looks good, but I will try to play with other values found in this topic to see what happens.

What I do not understand is why coding HU_ENTRYNAV and DKOMBI after VO code 6WB does not put the proper values, so FDL code has to be done afterwards.

Maybe because 6WB was introduced in 2017 and isn't official compatible with older cars.

Yes, this should be the reason.
I have also tried to change zeitkriterium in FA, but the result is the same, HU_ENTRYNAV do not see DKOMBI after VO coding, without proper FDL coding afterwards.

Just wanted to say that I found a solution to this problem. I changed NAVICOLOR_TABLE from "neue_farbtabelle" to "farbwelt_id5" and now it looks like below

In my opinion because the Dkombi is started with EntryEvo, NBT and Evo units, so Esys don't put coding in Entry units.

Does anyone know how to solve disapearing HUD.

I have cic navi professional, and hud just dissapears randomly while driving

Carly have errors:
B7F6E4 hud: error in display backlighting
B7F6EC faulty recieve image data from the combi:hud
B7F7B9 hud wrong version installed

I assume that is coding error is causing this

Please help

Helpful thread so far. I have the same problem as described above.
Retrofitted a 6WB on a 07/2012 F30 with HUD AND HUH_CIC. Everything works fine, also HUD. But after 10-20 minutes of driving, the HUD disappears and doesn't come back up.

Anyone with a solution on this? Help would be very appreciated!

One might think that the CIC is causing the problem.
But I just checked the parts catalog and there is the HUD with changed hardware from 07/2013.
So I think there is no other solution for you other than swapping the HUD with a newer one.
