My VO F30 M Performance Edition

Hello f30.bimmerpost, figured I may as well introduce myself with a picture or two. I picked up about 2 months ago with 10,000km on the clock.. Overall I've found the color is either love it or hate it.. there's no real in between, plus it's a pain in the butt to photograph.

So far I've mildly lowered it on Dinan springs, and much to displeasure of the dealership I've installed a trailer hitch. Boy this car gets a lot of odd looks towing my race bike to the track. haha

Next mods will be some mild custom Alcantara work, and I'll be moving away from OEM 20 wheels to a easier to clean/maintain set of 19's.

amazing color combination with the mperformance bits! cant believe you are going to dump those fantastic 20s. curious to see how the hitch is installed. Did you do an invisible hitch or you hacked up the diffuser?

Yes it's the OEM M Perf lip that the car came from factory with. Only the front bumper extensions are painted, the splitter part isn't painted.

I'll be keeping the 20's because it'll help with resale value.. but I won't be using them.

Hitch is a Curt unit, with a Tekonsha ZCI Circuit Protected wiring harness. Yes I had to trim the rear diffuser slightly and reshape the exhaust heat shield to accommodate the hitch. Overall it took a about 4 hours to install the hitch, and route the wiring.

The car tows beautifully

This is the Alcantara re-upholstery that I completed on my last 07 WRX wagon.. It took me about 3 weeks work to re-skin the dash, door panels and center console lid. Mainly I'm trying to find a wrecked F30 to get the parts to re-skin.

I won't be going to this extreme on this car.. but, I'm going to do a few things that haven't been done before. But I will keep that in mind for getting supplies if I run out of material. Thanks

Did you, by chance, buy that car from Vancouver's "the BMW Store" last spring? If so, I saw it there and loved it. Very unique.

Nope, previous owner bought the car new at Vic BMW, then traded it in 2 years later at the same dealership. I picked it up 4 days later haha.

Regardless, good for you, it's a great color for it. Enjoy.

Thanks, and OH I am.. I get a goofy grin on my face every time I go for a drive or see people duck for cover when the car belts out a loud backfire on decel. haha

I love how among a sea of BMW's in this town, it's one of the only ones not black, grey or white.

Yep, love my Estoril Blue for the same reason. And I won't tell anyone what the plate signifies.........I am 72 years young myself.

The plate signifies to me good times along with some bad, plus a lot of great friends that I'll miss. But, I'm still a baby in my mid-late 30s.

There's one that i always see around the Richmond area. Last time i saw it was at Home Depot. Now i'm thinking maybe i should have gone with that Valencia Orange MPE that was at The BMW Store instead hehe.

I posted a WTB thread for some of the interior pieces I'm looking for right now.. you might get a idea where I'm going to go with it during stage 1.

You're welcome, from what I understand there were only 175 2014 M Sport Editions that came in 4 different colors, out of those I was told there were *supposedly* under 10 that came Valencia Orange in North America.

** I say supposedly because I have yet to find out directly from BMW on exact production numbers. **

Tomorrow the new wheels should be here, and hopefully the tires should be arriving on Friday.
