Sport Display Changed Only For At
Got confirmation from SA today that, the Sport Displays only change for AT equipped cars. They emailed BMW and just got response. Manual, stays at 320/320 since that's within the specs. If any one else with 6MT gets this done, can fully fully verify, but that's what we have for now.

I have definitely formed some impressions at this point (which I've jotted down). However, in my experience with other/previous flash tunes, it takes more than 15 miles to get an accurate feel for everything. And I apologize . . . I keep forgetting to check my display. I will this afternoon . . . I promise.

that's what the Auto should say. (Im MT). My dealer confirmed only AT gets the change. Until someone else with 6MT gets it, we'll hvae to assume MT cars don't get a new sport display

Its odd they wouldn't change it. I actually don't even have the updated display even from factory yet so I'm trying to get that fixed before I get mppk installed.

Independently, it's not odd that manual cars dont get an update from 320/320, seeing that the PPK doesn't "technically" make more than that. But, like i said, until someone else with a MT gets this, we'll have to assume that my SA is correct that MT cars dont get new Sport displays over 320/320.

I have an auto so my sport display will change. I could care less to be honest. Mine doesn't say HP and Torque. It has the euro KW and nM. I doubt that will change without coding.

No no no. Hah. The observations were penned post-driving experience. Sorry to disappoint.

yeah, i don't care so much about seeing a number that I can' t reach anyways. ...im was more concerned that everything was 'properly' updated on install...i.e., if it's advertised to change, and it doesnt', its not so much that i need it to change , but rather just making sure everything is properly updated.

Does the needle on the gauges go further? Like to the full 320? Or does nothing change ?

i haven't floored it yet. believe it or not even after logging close to 200 miles i haven't gotten a stretch where i can safely go WOT on it. I've either been with my kid in back, which i won't do with her in the car, or too much traffic. the gaps close so fast and quickly in this car i really need more open road. I got up to 100 easily yesterday on a quick test not even coming close to flooring it and had to gather myself before i did something stupid.

If the presence of the new sports display is the key indicator of whether the car has upgraded power, then I'm a bit worried. Hope BMW is not selling us a placebo

i did find this online. It has the marketing strategy and sort of insinuates the Kit wants to put the car on par with the S4, etc. in terms of power. Intersting as i found this today, and in my first thread I said it reminded me of the S4 and an 'AWD" surge in terms of having just a bit more power. I will say they certainly have nailed that. http://bmwccn.no/assets/core/2013/03...Newsletter.pdf

I always hit 400 nm. About 295 FT lbs to wheels so I figure at crank I'm about 320-325 FT lbs stock. BMW definitely underrates. Kw I'm about 215 which is about 288 wheel which is about 325 Hp crank. My assumptions are that I should be somewhere around 360-370 hp crank and 360-370 FT lbs stock all at crank. Wheel is much more important. So I would say 320 wheel horse. 330 FT lbs

Pretty sure sport displays show crank #'s, and they're probably not all that accurate.
